Good morning to you all, I believe we all have a nice weekend?
This morning I will be sharing with you how you can cut a pant trouser.

The are several ways of cutting a trouser but I will take you guys through my own process, someone might find it useful.

Things to be considered when cutting a trouser

  • Waist
  • Crotch
  • Lap
  • Knee
  • Length
  • Base

So when taken your measurements, those aforementioned will be taken.

FIRST STEP

pick your fabric and fold into to, draw a straight line downward.

A trouser is divided into three (3) cardinal points,

  • Crotch
  • Knee
  • length

So after drawing your straight line, determine these points making use of the measurements taken.

CROTCH

The body size determine the inches to be used for the crotch.

KNEE

knee point is gotten by dividing the total length by two (2) plus two (2)

Then you take an Inch inside from the knee point and take it down to the length but bring it out from knee point to the crotch. This is shown below

Then you start to take your measurement.
Using this measurement for example
Waist 34
Lap 25
Knee 17
Length 40

Your waist is now going to be 34 divided by 4 plus 1 as allowance, then you mark, come down to you crotch and measure the lap which will be 25 divided by 2 and you also mark, down to the knee, knee divided by 2 which is 8.5, and down to the base and measure 7 inches, then you join the dotted line

This is shown below:

  • After this we proceed to cutting of the back,

You will add 1 inch to the waist, 3 inches to the lap, 2.5 to the knee, then 2 inches downward after knee point.
