How I made my Top or sports bra 😻 (Eng-Esp)

Happy start of the week my dear fabric and yarn friends 🤗 I hope these days to come will be very productive for everyone.
Today I wish to show you on my beautiful #needleworkmonday this top or sports bra I made for myself. The pattern and the making was taught to me some time ago by my good friend @gardenofcarmen 🌸
I wanted to make it because the idea is that it would complete an intimate apparel set with the panties I made last week.
This type of bra is great, not only for exercising or walking, but also for when we spend the day at home and want to be comfortable but safe 😃 Others use it at bedtime.

Hoy deseo mostrarles en mi hermosa #needleworkmonday este top o brasier deportivo que hice para mí. El patrón y la confección me los enseñó hace tiempo mi buena amiga @gardenofcarmen 🌸
Quise hacerlo porque la idea es que completara un conjunto de ropa íntima con la braga o pantaleta que realice la semana pasada.
Este tipo de brasier es excelente, no solo para hacer ejercicio o caminar, sino también para cuando pasamos el día en casa y queremos estar cómodas pero seguras 😃 Otras lo utilizan a la hora de dormir.
And this Micro Peach fabric is so soft and cool that there is no way to feel uncomfortable in it. I really think it brings comfort.
Here I leave you the step by step and the respective photos of my work. I set aside yesterday to do it. I'm not fast, so it took me about 8 hours to sew it 😅 Besides, I stopped at every step to take pictures and iron it, trying to make it as presentable as possible for you 💗
I know it has its details that I will progressively polish as I continue to do it. Really all work is like that, as they say: "Practice makes perfect". The idea is not to give up 🙌🏻 That's why I would love to hear from you if you liked it 🙈
I used the same materials as last time, only this top has no elastic band. It's made with nothing but Micro Peach fabric.
Y es que esta tela de Micro Durazno es tan suave y fresca que no hay manera de sentirse incómodo con ella. De verdad que a mí parecer aporta confort.
Acá les dejo el paso a paso y las respectivas fotos de mi trabajo. Destine el día de ayer para hacerlo. No soy rápida, así que me llevó como 8 horas coserlo 😅 Además que en cada paso me detenía para tomar las fotos y planchar buscando que quedara lo más presentable para ustedes 💗
Se que tiene sus detalles que iré puliendo progresivamente a medida que lo siga haciendo. Realmente todo trabajo es así, como dicen: "La práctica hace al maestro". La idea es no desistir 🙌🏻 Por eso me encantaría que me dijeran si les gustó 🙈
Utilicé los mismos materiales que la vez pasada, solo que este top no lleva goma elástica. Es hecho nada más con la tela de Micro Durazno.
How I did it 😉
Cut the pieces, consisting of one (1) rear, one (1) center-front and four (4) sides ie two (2) of each, guided by the pattern.
Cómo lo hice 😉
Corte las piezas, que consiste en una (1) trasera, una (1) central-delantera y cuatro (4) laterales osea dos (2) de cada una, guiándome por el patrón.
I open the front piece and overlap the side pieces, one on the front and one on the back, so that when I turn the seam is hidden (I cut them double to better hold the bust). In this case I sewed them by hand first to make sure that, as it is a pronounced curve, it would fit well from beginning to end. I ironed to settle the seam and now I joined with the machine. Then I face front piece to back piece and one by one the shoulders. It looked like this:
Abro la pieza delantera y sobrepongo las laterales, una por el frente y otra por detrás, para que al voltear la costura quede escondida (las corto doble para sujetar mejor el busto). En este caso las cosí a mano primero para asegurarme de que, como es una curva pronunciada, calzara bien de principio a fin. Planché para asentar costura y ahora sí uni con la máquina. Luego enfrento pieza delantera con trasera y uno por uno de los hombros. Quedó así:
Now I measured the length of the neckline, armholes and waistband and cut bias binding from the same fabric (they can be any thickness you want. I made them 3cm for the length of where I would glue it) to give a nice finish to those parts. I joined them directly on the machine, stretching 1/2 cm as I sewed, and finished them off with a three step stitch.
Ahora medí el largo del cuello, las sisas y la cintura y corte sesgos de la misma tela (pueden ser del grosor que tu quieras. Yo las hice de 3cm x el largo de dónde la pegaría) para darle un bonito acabado a esas partes. Las uni directo en la máquina, estirando 1/2 cm a medida que iba cosiendo, y las rematé con puntada de tres tiempos.
I measure the waist circumference. Based on that I cut a 10 cm wide waistband. I sew the edge of this and fold it in half. The length will be the length of the waistband minus 8cm 😉 It is suggested to do it this way because it will hold the bust better and will fit well at the waist. It will not be wide.
Paso a medir el contorno de la cintura. En base a eso corto una pretina de 10 cm de ancho. Coso la orilla de esta y la doblo a la mitad. El largo será lo que midió el contorno menos 8cm 😉 Se sugiere que se haga de esta forma pues así sujetará mejor el busto y calzara bien en la cintura. No quedará ancho.
I made four marks on both the waistband and the top so that when I joined them together they would stretch evenly and not stretch more than each other. I fixed it with zigzag because, as it is elastic fabric, it prevents the seam from breaking. Finally I ironed it and put her little bow on it 😻 What did you think? 💜
Le hice cuatro marcas tanto a la pretina cómo al top para que al momento de unirlas quedara estirada uniformemente y no un trecho más que otro. Lo fijé con zigzag pues, como es tela elástica, evita que se rompa la costura. Finalmente planche y le puse su lacito 😻 ¿Qué les pareció? 💜
