Good afternoon to all needlewomen! 🌺 I hope you are doing well and you and your family are healthy. We are doing well, except for the very intense heat. This week, the heat rose to + 41 degrees Celsius. But despite this, I wore a warm sweatshirt.
I want to show you my work: I changed the zipper! I am very proud of this !!! 😀 This jacket had a metal zipper that broke (hurray hurray) 😅 I didn't like it; this zipper was very long, right up to the top of the jacket. In cold weather, she was very cold and unpleasantly touched the skin of the neck. I firmly knew that I needed not a metal, but a plastic zipper for repair. It was easy to remove the old zipper, but a new zipper had to be sewn on with a sewing machine. It was a challenge for me!
I didn't want the zipper to go all the way to the top, so I positioned it like this.
My sewing machine can sew if the fabric is not very thick.
But at the top of the zipper, at the very bottom and where the pockets are sewn on, my sewing machine cannot work. There is a very thick joint of fabric in these places. So I sewed it on with a needle and thread with my hands.
But I'm still very glad that I could do it. This jacket is very comfortable to use at home and I would not want to throw it away.
And I am very proud to be able to repair this with a sewing machine !!! 🙂

You already know I will love the jacket... pink 😍 It looks completely new, and it would have been a real shame to put it away. So, congratulations to your for sewing a new zipper in. I guess I would have sweated like crazy because of fear while trying something like this. But you managed it perfectly - wow. Such a long zipper... just wow.
