Últimamente no estoy confeccionando tanto, casi no estoy cosiendo o bordando porque estoy demasiado ocupada con la facultad, el trabajo estas semanas se volvió un poco caótico, en realidad los últimos dos meses lo fueron, pero creo que todo se está normalizando y ya casi estoy de vuelta, también me pedí unos días libres porque necesito parar un poco y disfrutar. Hoy vengo a mostrarles otro proyecto en el que estuve trabajando en la facultad.
Lately I'm not sewing as much, I'm hardly sewing or embroidering because I'm too busy with college, work these weeks has become a bit chaotic, actually the last two months have been, but I think everything is normalizing and I'm almost back, I also asked for a few days off because I need to stop a bit and enjoy myself. Today I come to show you another project I was working on in college.
Me encargue de coserlo, pero otra persona lo corto y tuve un par de problemas con eso, ya que no tenía cm de costura y mucho menos de ruedo lo que hizo que la prenda se achicara de todos lados :c pero me las arregle bastante bien, lo bueno es que la persona que lo va a usar es de un talle pequeño, y la tela es muy elástica, al ser una prenda al cuerpo esto no fue un gran problema, quizás con cm de costura habría quedado grande o algo floja.
I was in charge of sewing it, but another person cut it and I had a couple of problems with it, since it had no cm of seam and much less of a hem, which made the garment shrink from all sides :c but I managed quite well , the good thing is that the person who is going to use it is a small size, and the fabric is very elastic, being a garment to the body this was not a big problem, perhaps with cm of seam it would have been large or somewhat loose.
Primero cosí los hombros que también tuve que recortar un poco, había una parte más grande, y no quería agrandar el cuello así que recorte desde atrás, esto modifico levemente la sisa, al coser los costados tuve que tomar centímetros de ancho también, esto no fue un problema, pero me ponía nerviosa que la prenda fuera quedando más pequeña.
First I sewed the shoulders which I also had to cut a little, there was a bigger part, and I didn't want to enlarge the neck so I cut from the back, this slightly modified the armhole, when sewing the sides I had to take centimeters wide as well, this doesn't It was a problem, but I was nervous that the garment was getting smaller.
Como parte del trabajo la prenda llevaba un bolsillo, requerido en tela de punto también, lo que hice para que al coser esto no fuera caótico fue usar entretela en los márgenes de costuras y mucha plancha para ayudar a fijar esto, como lo iba a coser con maquina recta me daba miedo que salte o que trabe la tela, o peor aún que la estropeara, por suerte nada de esto pasó.
As part of the work the garment had a pocket, required in knit fabric as well, what I did so that when sewing this was not chaotic was to use interlining in the seam allowances and a lot of iron to help fix this, as I was going to sew it With a straight machine I was afraid that it would jump or lock the fabric, or even worse that it would damage it, luckily none of this happened.

Le di dos costuras como las máquinas para bolsillos en denim, también mientras cosía esto pensé en que sería útil tener aguja doble, pero nunca la compré jajaja simplemente olvido hacerlo, pero quedo bastante bien, también use un hilo a tono con la tela, el contraste de los colores me gustó mucho, la tela es una especie de gris azulado, y contrastado con rojo quedo muy llamativo, pero bien.
I gave it two seams like the machines for pockets in denim, also while sewing this I thought that it would be useful to have a double needle, but I never bought it hahaha I just forgot to do it, but it turned out quite well, I also used a thread to match the fabric, the I liked the contrast of the colors a lot, the fabric is a kind of bluish gray, and contrasted with red it is very striking, but fine.
Me dio bastante miedo coser las tiras de sisa y de cuello, sobre todo el cuello, no soy experta en esto, pero el morley es bastante elástico así que se cosió bien, igual que las tiras de sisa, son algo anchas, pero no tenía tanto tiempo para hacer todo perfecto, necesitaba que este decente y que esté listo a tiempo, algo que pasa con los proyectos de costura de la facultad es que tienen muy poco tiempo para estar listos, en este caso no tuvimos que presentarlos en modelos humanos pero hay veces que sí, y modelar en un maniquí y en una persona es muy diferente, sobre todo en las caídas de la tela, o como se llenan esos espacios.
I was quite afraid to sew the armhole and neck straps, especially the neck, I'm not an expert in this, but the morley is quite elastic so it was sewn well, just like the armhole straps, they are a bit wide, but I didn't have so much time to get everything perfect i needed it to be decent and ready on time one thing about college sewing projects is that they take so little time to be ready in this case we didn't have to present them on human models but there are times that yes, and modeling on a mannequin and on a person is very different, especially in the falls of the fabric, or how those spaces are filled.
Lo último, pero no menos importante fue el ruedo y esto también acortó la prenda ya que utilizo una técnica de modista y no hago ruedo convencional, este truco es útil en punto, consiste en doblar dos veces una hacia afuera y otra hacia adentro y luego coser y voltear, esta costura se hace en overlook y luego se puede pisar por encima, en esta prenda pise con recta, y quedo bien, el tema es que queda algo gruesa para mi gusto, también es algo que podría haber resuelto con una tira tipo puño pero eso ya cambiaba el diseño y los dibujos de la prenda.
The last but not least was the hem and this also shortened the garment as I use a seamstress technique and I don't do conventional hem, this trick is useful in knitting, it consists of folding twice once out and once in and then sew and turn, this seam is done in overlook and then you can step on it, in this garment I stepped on straight, and it looks good, the issue is that it is a little thick for my taste, it is also something that could have been solved with a strip cuff type but that already changed the design and drawings of the garment.
Realmente estoy feliz con el resultado y estoy trabajando duro en mis materias y mis trabajos de la universidad, también pronto tendré nuevos trabajos de costura así que espero poder compartirlos a tiempo, estamos trabajando con faldas ahora, y mi falda es un diseño que nunca hice pero conozco, debo hacer mi moldería, mis dibujos y todos los detalles constructivos, me emociona este nuevo desafío, también el trabajo requiere que hagamos que sea lo más sustentable posible y con menos desperdicios, así que queda mucho que pensar, que resolver y que diseñar, pero la emoción está muy arriba en este momento.
I'm really happy with the result and I'm working hard on my subjects and my university papers, I'll also have new sewing jobs soon so I hope I can share them in time, we're working on skirts now, and my skirt is a design I never did but I know, I have to do my moulding, my drawings and all the construction details, I am excited about this new challenge, the work also requires that we make it as sustainable as possible and with less waste, so there is a lot to think about, to solve and to design, but the emotion is very high at the moment.
