Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post de una nueva reseña, esta vez de Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, o también conocido como The Rising of the Shield Hero, es un anime considerado como seinen isekai, de fantasía y bastante entretenida la verdad.
Es originalmente una serie de novelas ligeras y mangas publicados por primera vez en el año 2015, cuya adaptación al anime se hizo a principios de 2019, a mano del estudio de animación "Kinema Citrus", que también animó una serie que me gustó llamada "Made in Abyss". Dirigido por un director llamado Takao Abo. Realmente este anime tuvo un éxito inesperado y unas opiniones algo polarizadas.
Personalmente me gustó, aunque no tanto como otros animes que he visto recientemente, pero siento que merece una reseña porque tiene bastante de qué hablar. Al principio lo consideré como una especie de "Sword Art Online", cosa que no me gustó mucho, pero la verdad tiene su propio estilo. Tiene muchas cosas rescatables que valen la pena y a continuación hablaré un poco de esos detalles.
Hello again! Today I come with a new review, this time from Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, or also known as The Rising of the Shield Hero, is an anime considered as seinen isekai, fantasy and quite entertaining the truth.
It is originally a series of light novels and mangas published for the first time in 2015, whose adaptation to the anime was made in early 2019, by the animation studio "Kinema Citrus", which also animated a series that I liked called "Made in Abyss". Directed by a director named Takao Abo. This anime really had an unexpected success and some polarized opinions.
I personally liked it, although not as much as other anime I have seen recently, but I feel it deserves a review because it has a lot to talk about. At first I considered it as a kind of "Sword Art Online", which I didn't like very much, but the truth has its own style. It has a lot of things that are worth rescuing and I'll talk about those details later.
Primer episodio | First episode
El primer episodio me sorprendió por la duración, no entendía por qué dura 46 minutos, pero vale la pena. Intentaré resumir este episodio porque es algo largo. Comienza con una visión de un chico con capa observando el horizonte, para que llegue una niña con orejitas con una pelota, al parecer con ganas de jugar. De repente vemos que ase despierta un chico, parecía un sueño. Aquí nos presentan a ese chico, Naofumi Iwatani, un universitario otaku cuyo único mérito familiar es haber devuelto a su hermano por el buen camino. Vemos como va a una biblioteca a buscar novelas ligeras que tanto le gustan en eso, encuentra un libro que habla de héroes y sus armas.
Luego de llegar a la parte del escudo solo hay páginas en blanco, para luego iluminar todo el lugar y el chico es absorbido como en un túnel interdimensional. Al final llega un castillo con otros 3 jóvenes al lado, con unas personas que tienen capas diciendo que los invocaron, ya que son los héroes legendarios y necesitaban su ayuda. Naofumi desinteresadamente aceptan, pero los otros tres quieren hacer hacer un trato. Luego los cuatro son llevados antes el rey, presentándose.
Ren Amaki y es el héroe de la espada, tiene 16 años y es estudiante de preparatoria. Motoyasu Kitamura es el héroe de la lanza, tiene 21 años y es un estudiante universitario. Itsuki Kawasumi es el héroe del arco, tiene 17 y es un estudiante de preparatoria. El rey parece ignorar completamente a Naofumi, al final sí se presenta pero aún así lo ignora.
The first episode surprised me because of its length, I didn't understand why it lasts 46 minutes, but it's worth it. I'll try to summarize this episode because it's kind of long. It begins with a vision of a boy in a cape looking at the horizon, so that a girl with little ears arrives with a ball, apparently wanting to play. Suddenly we see a boy wake up, it seemed like a dream. Here we are introduced to that boy, Naofumi Iwatani, a university otaku whose only family merit is to have returned his brother to the right path. We see how he goes to a library to look for light novels that he likes so much in that, he finds a book that talks about heroes and their weapons.
After arriving at the part of the shield there are only blank pages, to then illuminate the whole place and the boy is absorbed as in an interdimensional tunnel. At the end arrives a castle with other 3 young people next to it, with some people who have layers saying that they were invoked, since they are the legendary heroes and needed their help. Naofumi selflessly accepts, but the other three want to make a deal. Then the four are brought before the king, introducing themselves.
Ren Amaki and is the hero of the sword, is 16 years old and a high school student. Motoyasu Kitamura is the hero of the spear, he is 21 years old and a college student. Itsuki Kawasumi is the hero of the bow, he is 17 and a high school student. The king seems to completely ignore Naofumi, in the end he does show up but still ignores him.
Por un reloj de arena que hay en el reino, se sabe que llegará una Ola apocalíptica que destruirá el mundo, ya pasó una Ola, pero las siguientes serán peores. Los cuatro héroes legendarios son los únicos que pueden repeler estas olas. Sin embargo, los otros tres quieren su recompensa después de repeler la ola para así ayudarlos. Luego se dan cuenta que hay un icono al borde de la visión de cada uno, parece de un videojuego, viendo que son nivel 1, deben entrenar para subir y mejorar sus habilidades. Los cuatro héroes se reúnen, dándonos cuenta que Naofumi desconoce muchas cosas del mundo a comparación de los otros tres. También vemos como subestiman a Naofumi solo por tener un escudo como arma. Hago un paréntesis para decir que Ren Amaki me cae mal en estos principios del anime.
Al día siguiente se reúnen con el rey y nadie quiere ayudar a Naofumi ni ser su acompañante, hasta que llega una chica bastante hermosa, la única que lo acompañará, se presenta como Mein Sophia. Les dan dinero y luego se retira cada héroe con sus respectivos acompañantes a hacer sus viajes por separado. En esto, Mein y Naofumi emprenden un paseo y compran cosas para complementar su poder. Naofumi comienza conocer más sobre su arma y conocer sus habilidades. También compra armas para la chica que lo acompaña.
Luego planean su viaje, y la chica lo invita a tomar una copa de vino. La verdad es un ambiente bastante romántico, íntimo, ustedes saben a qué me refiero. Naofumi prefiere ir a descansar y duerme bastante feliz. Sin embargo al despertar, descubre algo muy extraño, todas sus cosas desaparecieron. Al parecer le robaron todo. Aparecen guardias diciendo que debe entregarse.
By an hourglass in the kingdom, you know an apocalyptic Wave will come and destroy the world; a Wave has already passed by, but the following Waves will be worse. The four legendary heroes are the only ones who can repel these waves. But the other three want their reward after repelling the wave in order to help them. Then they realize that there is an icon at the edge of each one's vision, it looks like a video game, seeing that they are level 1, they must train to go up and improve their skills. The four heroes gather, realizing that Naofumi doesn't know much about the world compared to the other three. We also see how they underestimate Naofumi just because she has a shield as a weapon. I take a break to say that I don't like Ren Amaki in these anime principles.
The next day they meet with the king and nobody wants to help Naofumi or be his companion, until a rather beautiful girl arrives, the only one who will accompany him, and introduces herself as Mein Sophia. They are given money and then each hero retires with their respective companions to make their separate journeys. In this, Mein and Naofumi take a walk and buy things to complement their power. Naofumi begins to learn more about her weapon and her abilities. He also buys weapons for the girl who accompanies him.
Then they plan their trip, and the girl invites him over for a glass of wine. It's actually quite a romantic, intimate atmosphere, you know what I mean. Naofumi prefers to go and rest and sleeps quite happily. However, when she wakes up, she discovers something very strange, all her things have disappeared. It seems that everything was stolen from her. Guards appear saying that she must turn herself in.
Todos lo atacan y lo miran mal, Naofumi no tiene idea de lo que está pasaba. Mein parece asustada, Naofumi dice que le robaron y el Rey lo llama escoria. Y adivinen qué: Mein acusa a Naofumi de haber abusado de ella mientras él estaba ebrio y pidiéndole ayuda a Motoyasu. Obviamente, todos le creen a la tipa y Naofumi es expulsado del castillo, perdonándole la vida aunque todos sabemos que él no hizo nada.
Al salir del castillo y adentrarse al pueblo, todos lo evitan y lo miran raro, incluso el vendedor de armas esta a punto de darle una golpiza pero el vendedor por alguna razón no lo golpea al final. Le otorga algunas prendas para que no ande con la ropa descuidada. Ataca a unos globos de esos monstruoso y va a vender su piel para así tener más dinero. Vemos como Naofumi se volvió frío. Al adentrarse al bosque, absorbe una hoja para su escudo, convirtiéndose el escudo en una hoja. A su vez, Naofumi recolecta hierbas para venderlas y así tener más dinero.
De la nada, unos rufianes aparecen queriendo ser los acompañantes del héroe del escudo, pero luego ellos atacan a Naofumi, este se defiende y los rufianes escapan. Luego aparece un señor enano de bigote y gordito ofreciéndole algo. Lo acompaña y se da cuenta que ese señor misterioso ofrece esclavos, que son incapaces de traicionar o mentirle a su amo, y además tienen una maldición. No parecen humanos, pero lo son en parte. Al ver algunos, este ve a una tosiendo parece enferma y ahí acaba el episodio.
Realmente es MUY largo, la verdad me salté muchas cosas en este resumen, sin embargo tiene mucho material y te intriga mucho por saber qué será de nuestro triste protagonista.
Everyone attacks him and looks at him badly, Naofumi has no idea what is happening. Mein looks scared, Naofumi says he was robbed and the King calls him a scum. And guess what: Mein accuses Naofumi of having abused her while he was drunk and asking Motoyasu for help. Obviously, everyone believes the girl and Naofumi is thrown out of the castle, sparing her life even though we all know he didn't do anything.
As he leaves the castle and enters the village, everyone avoids him and looks at him strangely, even the arms dealer is about to give him a beating but the dealer for some reason doesn't hit him at the end. He gives him some clothes so that he doesn't walk around with his clothes unkempt. He attacks some of those monstrous balloons and goes to sell his skin so he can have more money. We see how Naofumi became cold. As she goes into the forest, she absorbs a leaf for her shield, turning the shield into a leaf. In turn, Naofumi collects herbs to sell so that she can have more money.
Out of nowhere, some ruffians appear wanting to be the companions of the hero of the shield, but then they attack Naofumi, she defends herself and the ruffians escape. Then a dwarf lord with a moustache and a fat man appears offering him something. He accompanies him and realizes that this mysterious lord offers slaves, who are unable to betray or lie to their master, and also have a curse. They don't look human, but they are human in part. When he sees some of them, he sees a coughing woman who looks sick and that's the end of the episode.
It is really VERY long, the truth is I skipped a lot of things in this summary, however it has a lot of material and it intrigues you a lot to know what will become of our sad protagonist.
Desarrollo | Development
Esta serie tiene un desarrollo algo lento, es algo pesado al comienzo porque los personajes intentan desarrollar sus habilidades y desenvolvimiento. Sin embargo, cuando llega la hora de la acción, tiene coherencia y las aventuras de Naofumi y Raphtalia son muy buenas. Parece algo cliché por el típico protagonista y una waifu, pero tiene potencial.
Vemos como Naofumi crece como héroe y desarrolla más sus habilidades. No quiere ser visto como el patético héroe del escudo, sino como un héroe y a lo largo de la historia lo vemos. Lo único que me parece tedioso es presentación de chicas lolis algo forzada, pero aportan aunque sea un poco al desarrollo de la trama. Es disfrutable y se puede ver de manera tranquila, tomando en cuenta que su desarrollo es lento y además que contará con otra temporada para seguir con esta historia.
Le veo potencial, espero que no se convierta en un Sword Art Online donde nuestro protagonista no aporta mucho y tiene un harem de lolis/waifus, no me he leído el manga para saber si eso ocurre. Solo espero que no decaiga su calidad, ya que le veo mucho potencial.
This series has a somewhat slow development, it's a bit heavy at the beginning because the characters are trying to develop their skills and development. However, when the time comes for action, it has coherence and the adventures of Naofumi and Raphtalia are very good. It seems a bit cliche for the typical protagonist and a waifu, but it has potential.
We see how Naofumi grows as a hero and develops her skills further. He doesn't want to be seen as the pathetic hero of the shield, but as a hero and throughout the story we see him. The only thing that I find tedious is the presentation of somewhat forced lolis girls, but they contribute even a little to the development of the plot. It is enjoyable and can be seen in a calm way, taking into account that its development is slow and also that it will have another season to continue with this story.
I see potential in it, I hope it doesn't become a Sword Art Online where our protagonist doesn't contribute much and has a harem of lolis/waifus, I haven't read the manga to know if that happens. I just hope it doesn't decline its quality, as I see a lot of potential in it.
Personajes | Characters
Naofumi me parece un protagonista chévere. Al principio nos lo muestran como un joven ingenuo, otaku y bastante lento para muchas cosas. Todas estas características son verdad, sin embargo, es traicionado de una manera muy grande haciendo que sea desterrado del castillo. Todo esto lo vuelve una persona muy fría, amargada y algo violenta y no es para menos. Le cuesta volver a confiar y además, trabaja el doble para incrementar su poder. A pesar de todo, al adoptar a Raphtalia observa como su compañía y apoyo lo ayudan en muchas manera, haciendo que se vuelva de nuevo en una persona más cálida, solo que más observadora con los demás. Me agrada su desarrollo, solo que es raro que adopte tantas chicas, parece que quiere formar un harem.
Naofumi seems to me a cool protagonist. At first they show him as a naive young man, otaku and quite slow for many things. All these characteristics are true, however, he is betrayed in a very big way making him be banished from the castle. All this makes him a very cold, bitter and somewhat violent person and it is not for less. It is difficult for him to trust again and besides, he works twice as hard to increase his power. In spite of everything, when adopting Raphtalia he sees how her company and support help him in many ways, making him become a warmer person again, only more observant with others. I like her development, it's just rare that she adopts so many girls, it seems she wants to form a harem.
Muchos de los personajes no tienen tanto desarrollo, sin embargo, recordemos que falta historia por contar. Los primeros que conocemos son los héroes, los cuales se presentan de manera diferente y contrastan mucho en personalidad, cosa que me agrada. Al principio no me caían bien, pero a lo largo no me molestaban tanto, espero que expliquen un poco de la historia y vida de cada héroe. Se nota mucho algunas características en su personalidad y sería muy genial saber por qué son así. Cada uno tiene sus características y peculiaridades, además de que ellos ven ese mundo como un juego, a diferencia de Naofumi que no cree que sea como un juego.
Many of the characters are not as developed, however, remember that there is a lack of history to tell. The first ones we know are the heroes, which are presented in a different way and contrast a lot in personality, which I like. At first I didn't like them, but in the long run they didn't bother me so much, I hope they explain a little bit of the story and life of each hero. Some characteristics are very noticeable in their personality and it would be great to know why they are like that. Each one has their own characteristics and peculiarities, plus they see that world as a game, unlike Naofumi who doesn't think it's like a game.
Raphtalia es la chica que Naofumi adopta como esclava/acompañante. Después de la traición por parte de Malty, Naofumi se volvió una persona extremadamente desconfiada, fría y algo cruel. Raphtalia es una chica medio humana con orejas y cola, que al principio era muy delicada de salud, adorable, débil y tímida, pero a lo largo de la historia se vuelve fuerte y luchadora. Tiene un pasado trágico y es muy fiel a Naofumi, realmente es un gran soporte para nuestro protagonista.
Luego se une Filo, una Filodial comprada para servir de apoyo. Puede transformarse en un gran ave y luego en humana. Si tiene hambre no cumple órdenes, sin embargo se moldea bien a las situaciones luego de que Naofumi se cansara de sus actitudes prepotentes. Es muy fuerte y se preocupa por sus compañeros.
Raphtalia is the girl that Naofumi adopts as a slave/companion. After Malty's betrayal, Naofumi became extremely distrustful, cold and somewhat cruel. Raphtalia is a half-human girl with ears and a tail, who at first was very delicate in health, adorable, weak and shy, but throughout the story she becomes strong and fighting. She has a tragic past and is very loyal to Naofumi, she really is a great support for our protagonist.
Later Filo joins in, a Filodial bought as a support. She can become a great bird and then a human. If he is hungry he doesn't follow orders, however he is well molded to the situations after Naofumi got tired of his overpowering attitudes. She is very strong and cares for her companions.
Los principales antagonistas son estos dos bastardos. Una es Malty, que se presenta como una chica hermosa, adorable y con ganas de apoyar al héroe del escudo, ya que nadie quiere ayudarlo. La pasa bien con ella y hasta conoce parte del pueblo, haciendo que Naofumi sienta cierta confianza con ella. Sin embargo de la nada desaparecen sus cosas y los guardias aparecen de manera violenta para acusarlo de abuso sexual hacia Malty. Nadie le cree a Naofumi y es desterrado gracias a esta tipa.
El otro es el rey, que es el causante de todo el sufrimiento de Naofumi. Desde el principio se nota su indiferencia hacia el héroe del escudo, pero no muestra tanta maldad. Él hace que su hija Malty acompañe a Naofumi para que luego lo traicione, y siendo el rey lo destierra. Este acto es deplorable para todos, incluyendo a la reina, ya que sabotea el trabajo para que los héroes los salven. Básicamente Malty y el Rey, son unos grandes traidores.
The main antagonists are these two bastards. One is Malty, who presents herself as a beautiful, adorable girl who wants to support the hero of the shield, since nobody wants to help him. He has a good time with her and even knows part of the town, making Naofumi feel some confidence with her. However, out of nowhere his things disappear and the guards appear in a violent way to accuse him of sexual abuse towards Malty. Nobody believes Naofumi and he is banished thanks to this girl.
The other is the king, who is the cause of all Naofumi's suffering. From the beginning you can see his indifference towards the hero of the shield, but he doesn't show so much evil. He makes his daughter Malty to accompany Naofumi so that she can betray him, and being the king she banishes him. This act is deplorable for everyone, including the queen, as it sabotages the work for the heroes to save them. Basically Malty and the King, are great traitors.
Hay más personajes que ayudan al crecimientos de nuestros protagonistas, sin embargo, no se conoce mucho de su pasado. Hablar de todos los que aparecen sería eterno. Espero que en la temporada que venga, nos expliquen un poco del pasado que cada personaje que aparezca y sea de importancia, como llegaron ahí y que los llevó a ese punto.
There are more characters that help our protagonists grow, however, not much is known about their past. To talk about all those who appear would be eternal. I hope that in the coming season, they will explain a little bit of the past that each character that appears and is of importance, how they got there and what led them to that point.
Animación | Animation
La animación viene de parte del estudio Kinema Citrus. Este anime me parece excelente en cuanto a animación. No decae nunca, la paleta de colores está muy bien utilizada y de verdad me gusta la esencia que da de ser un mundo de fantasía. Está muy bien utilizado el entorno y fondos, comos bosques, montañas, estructuras, edificaciones, etc. Todos esos contrastes me parecen muy buenos.
Otra cosa que me fascinó, fueron las coreografías de peleas y luchas, todos los efectos, movimientos de personajes y colores me parecen muy buenos. En cuanto a animación es algo visualmente agradable. Los detalles anatómicos de los personajes y uso de planos me gustan mucho. De verdad una excelente animación.

I hope that in the coming season, they will explain a little bit of the past that each character that appears and is of importance, how they got there and what led them to that point.
Opening & Ending
El Opening número 1 viene por parte del grupo MADKID, con la canción "Rise", tiene como un estilo de rock-pop bastante bueno. Personalmente me gustó mucho y la descargué. Buena animación acordé a la canción y bastante movida, me parece muy acorde a la serie.
El primer ending viene por parte de la artista Chiai Fujikawa, con la canción llamada "Kimi no Namae". Bastante tranquila, en contraste al opening, pero muy buena. Nos muestran imágenes tipo fotografías y animaciones en fotogramas de nuestros personajes en sus aventuras. Realmente me gustó.
The Opening number 1 comes from the group MADKID, with the song "Rise", it has like a pretty good rock-pop style. I personally liked it a lot and downloaded it. Good animation according to the song and quite moved, it seems to me to be very appropriate to the series.
The first ending comes from the artist Chiai Fujikawa, with the song called "Kimi no Namae". Quite calm, in contrast to the opening, but very good. They show us photo-type images and frame animations of our characters in their adventures. I really liked it.
Madkid de nuevo trae otro opening excelente para este anime, cuya canción se llama "Faith". También la descargué y gracias a ello, comencé a escuchar al grupo. Me gustó muchísimo este opening y la animación que tiene, totalmente acorde a la historia y que trasmite la esencia de la serie.
También Chiai Fujikawa nostrae el segundo ending, llamado "Atashi ga Tonari ni Iru uchini". Tiene la misma esencia que el primer opening, con una melodía tranquila en contraste con el opening y mostrando imágenes de nuestros personajes en su viaje. Realmente me gustaron todos los endings y openings de esta serie.
Madkid again brings another excellent opening for this anime, whose song is called "Faith". I also downloaded it and thanks to that, I started listening to the band. I really liked this opening and the animation it has, totally in line with the story and conveys the essence of the series.
Chiai Fujikawa also brings us the second ending, called "Atashi ga Tonari ni Iru uchini". It has the same essence as the first opening, with a quiet melody in contrast to the opening and showing images of our characters on their journey. I really liked all the endings and openings of this series.
Conclusion
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari es un anime que recomiendo ver si quieres pasar el rato porque es entretenido. Realmente no lo siento como una historia trascendental, pero sí me parece disfrutable. Verdaderamente me gustó a pesar de algunas cosas que me parecieron innecesarias o pesadas. Sin embargo, no me parece malo, es digno el éxito que tuvo.
El éxito que tuvo es merecido, tiene muchas cosas positivas y esperemos que su segunda temporada sea muy buena, ya que nos dejó un final abierto de posibilidades y con futuras luchas que nuestros héroes tendrán que cumplir. Los personajes son entretenidos, las peleas bien coreografiadas, soundtrack excelente, ambientación muy buena, y buen uso de paleta de colores. Agradable visualmente y entretenido, no es un mal anime y puede llegar a gustarle a muchas personas.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari is an anime that I recommend seeing if you want to hang out because it's fun. It doesn't really feel like a transcendental story, but I do find it enjoyable. I really liked it despite some things that seemed unnecessary or heavy to me. However, I don't think it's bad, it's worthy of the success it had.
The success he had is well deserved, he has many positive things and let's hope his second season will be very good, since he left us with an open ending of possibilities and with future struggles that our heroes will have to fulfill. The characters are entertaining, the fights well choreographed, excellent soundtrack, very good atmosphere, and good use of color palette. Visually pleasing and entertaining, it's not a bad anime and many people will like it.

wow en serio que increíble reseña me encanto, el primer episodio me recuerda al primero de Senyoku no Sigrdrifa un anime nuevo que esta en emisión e igual su primer capitulo es de 47min algo poco común, la historia de este me llamo mucho la atención tanto que pienso verlo, mi lista de animes por ver parece que siempre aumenta cuando subes un post de anime jajaja
