I often record in my studio, but with varying equipment and setups. For Social Media and the Blockchain I'm recording at my video production workstation using a gamer headset (Alienware 510H) and have been working on boom mic placement to minimize plosives. I'm recording into Hindenburg Journalist Pro, doing some fast editing, and then uploading to Aureal.
In the past, I have done mobile + app recordings for NaPodPoMo and have done that in random places. So, I think for me where I record and what tools I use vary depending on the goals for the recording.
