Can Discussions Be Hacked Like Twitter?🤔🐦💬

Yesterday, a long list of notable Twitter accounts were hacked to spread a bitcoin scam, including many that we sometimes repost from like CoinBase, Binance, Elon Musk and Warren Buffett.

While Twitter has still not made public exactly how the hack happened, evidence points to Twitter employees coordinating with the attacker, using internal tools to change email associated with accounts and then resetting the passwords via email accounts controlled by the hacker.

From there the hacker had full user access, able to post, tweet, and even access other websites that used Twitter's login system, meaning the damage could've extended beyond Twitter.

Information is still coming out, but this the situation as we understand it so far.

So could something like this happen on Discussions?

Can members of the Novusphere team gain access into your account and spread misinformation and scams using your identity?

No. It is simply not possible.

When you first sign-up with Discussions, you are provided with a 12 words brain key and asked to create an encryption password. The words are then stored on your computer, encrypted with the password you provided, and never leaves the confine of your hard drive.

Special key pairs are generated using those 12 words and signs every post you make on Discussions. Every vote, reply and post is accompanied by a signature that only you can generate with those 12 secret words.

A transaction containing post information and my account signature.

This is simply the difference between the traditional, central infrastructure of Twitter, and the decentralized, secure blockchain technology of Discussions.
