Dear Hive Builders and Creators
The Arthouse guest room is officially ready for my first visitor, a dear artist friend from Cyprus, who I've not seen in 20 yrs!
I'm particularly proud and glad to have completed this rail/ bed fence, which is a security factor to keep the sleeper from rolling off!
It was a fiddle to create; it had to be solid, but not take up too much space, aesthetically pleasing and not too hard-edged.
The brackets I used were nice and rigid, but once attached still it had a bit of movement on the ends, so I added additional brackets:
In the part where the two sides joined, I had to cut an extra piece off, as I changed design once the fence was constructed.
I wrestled a good bit with that! Had to deconstruct both the lower shelves and the side ladder, to be able to drill the holes for the brackets.... urgh! But they ended up being much easier than I anticipated to remove and re-attach.
Then I painted and re-organised it all with nice blankies and pillows... so happy!
Feeling pooped-but-profoundly-satisfied with this job!
Blessings on all our projects!
Clare.
