¡Hola a todos! El día de hoy les quiero mostrar algunos de mis trabajos de reciclaje, esta vez, reutilizando Cds que yo no eran funcionales.
Hello everyone! Today I want to show you some of my recycling work, this time, reusing CDs that were not functional.
La idea es darle una nueva utilidad, ya sea como un adorno para la nevera o como un lindo objeto decorativo. Básicamente los materiales dependen del tipo de decoración que quiera hacerse. Pueden pintarse completamente haciendo uso de pintura al frío o pegándoles recortes de revistas bastante coloridos.
The idea is to give it a new utility, either as a decoration for the fridge or as a nice decorative object. Basically the materials depend on the type of decoration that you want to do. They can be completely painted using cold paint or by gluing rather colorful magazine cutouts to them.
Para hacerlos pintados yo utilizo dos métodos:
El primero, es pintando directamente sobre el CD. Para hacer eso, se debe pintar con varias capas de pintura al frío blanco, hasta que quede completamente preparado nuestro "lienzo". Seguidamente, dibujamos lo que vamos a querer plasmar en nuestro CD haciendo uso de un lápiz de grafito. Ya teniendo nuestro dibujo, lo pintamos con la pintura al frío como si estuviéramos trabajando sobre madera. Para un mejor acabado, es bueno sellar nuestro trabajo con brillo al agua o resina, lo que mejor nos parezca.
Este proceso no es muy recomendable si no se es muy diestro en el dibujo, ya que al borrar, el grafito nos puede manchar el fondo blanco, tampoco es bueno si se quiere trabajar con muchas piezas del mismo diseño.
To make them painted I use two methods:
The first is painting directly on the CD. To do this, it must be painted with several layers of cold white paint, until our "canvas" is completely prepared. Next, we draw what we are going to want to capture on our CD using a graphite pencil. Once we have our drawing, we paint it with cold paint as if we were working on wood. For a better finish, it is good to seal our work with water or resin glitter, whichever we think is best.
This process is not highly recommended if you are not very skilled in drawing, since when erasing, the graphite can stain the white background, it is not good if you want to work with many pieces of the same design.
Para la parte trasera le pegué con silicón un triángulo (se pueden conseguir en las ferreterías), pero si no se tienen, se puede hacer con una tirita con estambre o guindarlo desde el propio agujero del CD.
For the back, I glued a triangle with silicone (you can get them in hardware stores), but if you don't have them, you can do it with a plaster with yarn or hang it from the hole in the CD itself.
El otro método que uso es para cuando se trata de elaboración en lote. Hago el dibujo en una hoja blanca y lo traspaso a otras hojas haciendo uso de un papel carbón. Recorto los círculos con los diseños ya traspasados y los pego en los CDs con pega blanca. Una vez secos, los pinto con la pintura al frío.
Con éste método nos ahorramos el paso de tener que pintar el Cd con la base blanca y como ya mencioné, es perfecto cuando queremos hacer el diseño más de una vez.
The other method I use is for batch brewing. I make the drawing on a white sheet and transfer it to other sheets using carbon paper. I cut out the circles with the designs already pierced and I paste them on the CDs with white glue. Once dry, I paint them with cold paint.
With this method we save the step of having to paint the CD with the white base and as I already mentioned, it is perfect when we want to make the design more than once.
Para que sean adornos para la nevera, basta con comprar un poco de imán, esos los venden en la ferreterías. Algunos traen pega incluida, pero yo prefiero reforzarlo con silicón.
To make them ornaments for the fridge, just buy a little magnet, those are sold in hardware stores. Some have glue included, but I prefer to reinforce it with silicone.
Pero, si no somos muy buenos con eso de dibujar y pintar, no hay problema. Podemos usar la técnica del decoupagge reunir recortes de revistas, botones, escarcha y cualquier otro material que se nos ocurra y hacer un collage en nuestros Cds. ¡Que nada nos detenga esa creatividad!
Estos hermosos trabajos fueron realizados por un grupo de niños a los que les di un curso sobre decorado de Cds. Ellos se divirtieron mucho utilizando esta técnica:
But, if we are not very good at drawing and painting, no problem. We can collect magazine clippings, buttons, glitter and any other material we can think of and make a collage on our CDs. Let nothing stop us that creativity!
These beautiful works were made by a group of children to whom I gave a course on CD decoration. They had a lot of fun using this technique:
Si somos más osados, podemos hacer cortes a los Cds para darles otras formas o añadirle cosas que aporten al diseño:
If we are more daring, we can cut the CDs to give them other shapes or add things that contribute to the design:
Y por supuesto, los disquettes también pueden ser personalizados:
And of course, the diskettes can also be personalized:
Como podemos ver, porque algo sea reciclado no significa que se vea de mal gusto o corriente. Si le ponemos empeño podemos elaborar unas piezas hermosas que no sólo harán que otros quieran copiarlas, sino que hasta podemos obtener un poco de lucro con ello y venderlas como un detalle diferente.
Espero que les haya gustado mi trabajo y se animen a darle vida a esos Cds viejos que durante un tiempo nos obsequiaron música y entretenimiento.

As we can see, just because something is recycled does not mean that it looks tacky or ordinary. If we put effort into it, we can make some beautiful pieces that not only will make others want to copy them, but we can even make a little profit with it and sell them as a different detail.
