The quarantine caused by covid-19 has left many parents going nuts because it's not easy to help their children with their doubts and homework. I imagine that in several countries online classes have been successful, virtual classes through Zoom and things like that, but in Venezuela not everyone has access to internet and the quality of the service is very poor, therefore receiving live classes through videoconferences is not feasible. Students are only receiving guides with the theory and some examples, and also the respective assignments. Many require that extra element provided by face-to-face interaction to understand the content, but not all parents are prepared to take on this role so they need help. Among my skills are math, physics and teaching so I have offered my services as a tutor. Today I want to share with you the process of creating a drawing I did for an advertisement.
La cuarentena causada por el covid-19 ha dejado a muchos padres como locos pues no es fácil ayudar a los hijos con sus dudas y deberes escolares. Imagino que en varios países las clases online han sido exitosas, clases virtuales a través de Zoom y cosas así, pero en Venezuela no todos tienen acceso a internet y la calidad del servicio es muy deficiente, por lo tanto recibir clases en vivo con videoconferencias no es factible. Los estudiantes sólo están recibiendo guías teóricas con algunos ejemplos y luego asignaciones. Muchos requieren ese elemento extra proporcionado por la interacción presencial para entender el contenido, pero no todos los padres están preparados para asumir este rol por lo que necesitan ayuda. Entre mis habilidades está la facilidad para la matemática, la física y la enseñanza, por lo que he ofrecido mis servicios como tutor. Hoy quiero compartir contigo el proceso de creación de un dibujo que hice para un anuncio.
I used the following materials and tools:
- Recycled paper
- Color pencil
- HP Photosmart C3180 Scanner
- Desktop PC
- Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Software
Los materiales y herramientas usados fueron los siguientes:
- Papel de reciclaje
- Lápiz de color
- Escáner HP Photosmart C3180
- PC de escritorio
- Software Adobe Photoshop CC 2019
First, I made the sketch by hand on a recycled paper sheet. I used a color pencil so that the scanner had no problem registering the image, which can happen if I use a graphite pencil.
Primero, realicé el boceto a mano en una hoja de papel de reciclaje. Usé un lápiz de color para que el escáner no tuviera problemas en registrar la imagen, cosa que puede suceder si uso un lápiz de grafito.
The next step was to scan the image and open it in the Photoshop design Software. I traced the outline of the drawing with the pencil tool on a new layer, the result is shown below.
El siguiente paso fue escanear la imagen y abrirla en el Software de diseño Photoshop. Tracé el contorno del dibujo con la herramienta lápiz en una capa nueva, el resultado se muestra a continuación.
Then I added color to the illustration.
Luego agregué color a la ilustración.
This is the result after adding some effects, shadows and words.
Este es el resultado después de agregar algunos efectos, sombras y palabras.
