Para mi este material es muy útil, por eso aprovecho la oportunidad para enseñar como hacer una máscara, inspirada en las festividades de los "Diablos danzantes de Yare". Espero les guste.

I am very happy to be here and share with you my participation in this new contest proposed by the #hivediy community, where it invites us to create a craft with cardboard. For me this material is very useful, so I take the opportunity to teach how to make a mask, inspired by the festivities of the "Dancing Devils of Yare". I hope you like it.
Diablos danzantes de Yare
Una de las manifestaciones populares y religiosas con muchos años de tradición en Venezuela, es una mezcla de las culturas indígena, negra y española, es la de los Diablos de Yare, que se ubica en los valles del Tuy, en la población de San Francisco de Yare. A pesar de que existen manifestaciones similares en varios estados del país como Aragua, Varga, Guárico, Miranda, Cojedes y Carabobo, esta es la más famosa de todas.
Dancing Devils of Yare
One of the popular and religious manifestations with many years of tradition in Venezuela, is a mixture of indigenous, black and Spanish cultures, is that of the Diablos de Yare, which is located in the valleys of the Tuy, in the town of San Francisco de Yare. Although there are similar demonstrations in various states of the country such as Aragua, Varga, Guárico, Miranda, Cojedes and Carabobo, this is the most famous of all.
Fue declarada Patrimonio Cultural Intangible de la Humanidad en diciembre de 2012, hecha a través del Instituto de Patrimonio Cultural de Caracas.
It was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2012, made through the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Caracas.
Los materiales que usaremos son:
.- Cartón de reciclaje de distintos espesores.
.- Silicón caliente.
.- Pinturas.
.- Papel de reciclaje.
.- Almidón,
.- Pega blanca.
.- Tijeras.
.- Lápiz.
.- Pinceles.
.- Una cuchilla.
.- Agua.
.- Un tubo.
.- Un molde ovalado o redondo.
The materials we will use are:
.- Recycling cardboard of different thicknesses.
.- Hot silicone.
.- Paintings.
.- Recycling paper.
.- Starch,
.- White paste.
.- Pair of scissors.
.- Pencil.
.- Brushes.
.- A knife.
.- Water.
.- A tube.
.- An oval or round mold.
Pasos.
Steps.
En un recipiente grande colocamos el cartón y agreguenle agua hasta cubrirlo totalmente, por 2 días.
Place the cardboard in a large container and add water until it is completely covered, for 2 days.
Luego cuando ya estuvo el cartón bastante blando se rompe en trozos muy pequeños con las manos hasta hacer un tipo de pasta algo tosca.
Then when the cardboard is quite soft, it is broken into very small pieces with the hands until it makes a somewhat coarse type of pasta.
Luego de triturar el cartón tomen un paño y coloque la pasta de cartón para quitarle el exceso de agua y dejarlo lo más seco posible.
After shredding the cardboard, take a cloth and place the cardboard paste to remove the excess water and leave it as dry as possible.
En un envase coloquen agua y una mezcla de almidón y lo déjelo hervir por varios minutos hasta que se creó una crema que servirá como endurecedor de nuestro cartón triturado.
In a container, place water and a mixture of starch and let it boil for several minutes until a cream is created that will serve as a hardener for our shredded cardboard.
Unimos en un envase la pasta de cartón, el almidón y le coloquen un poco de pega blanca. Muevanlo con la mano hasta que este una pasta homogénea.
We join the cardboard paste, the starch in a container and put a little white glue on it. Move it with your hand until it is a homogeneous paste.
Al molde coloquenle una bolsa de plástico para que no de pegue la pasta de cartón al molde.
Place a plastic bag on the mold so that the cardboard paste does not stick to the mold.
Luego comiencen a colorar poco a poco la pasta de cartón sobre el molde y a darle forma de rostro. Cuando este lista la forma de la mascara la deje secar por 2 días.
Then slowly begin to color the cardboard paste over the mold and shape it into a face. When the mask shape is ready, let it dry for 2 days.
Cuando ya estuvo seca la máscara pintenla de muchos colores para que sea muy llamativa.
When the mask is dry, paint it in many colors to make it very striking.
Marquen en un cartón la forma de la máscara y recorten su centro un poco mas pequeño que la marca que hicimos. También realicen formas de llamas, para que la máscara sea mas vistosa y grande. Pintamos con mucho color a las llamas.
Mark the shape of the mask on cardboard and cut out its center a little smaller than the mark we made. Also make shapes of flames, so that the mask is more attractive and larger. We paint the flames with a lot of color.
Para realizar los cuernos, marcamos y cortamos un trozo largo de cartón suave.
To make the horns, we mark and cut a long piece of soft cardboard.
Enrollamos en el tubo la cinta de cartón. Con la ayuda de la cuchilla cortamos varias veces hasta llegar al fondo del espiral.
We roll the cardboard tape in the tube. With the help of the blade we cut several times until we reach the bottom of the spiral.
Con silicón caliente unimos los pequeños círculos de cartón sin olvidar su orden.
With hot silicone we join the small cardboard circles without forgetting their order.
Luego introducimos un aro dentro del otro y le damos forma arqueada a los cuernos y le colocamos pegamento para fijarlos en la forma deseada.
Then we introduce one ring inside the other and give the horns an arched shape and put glue to fix them in the desired shape.
Con un poco de pintura, lucieron geniales los cuernos.
With a little paint, the horns looked great.
Cortamos un listón blanco de papel reciclado le hacemos una barba y con listón de papel blanco lo pegamos en el entorno de las llamas donde reposara la máscara. Pegamos con silicón la máscara a las llamas.
We cut a white strip of recycled paper, we make a beard and with a white paper strip we stick it in the area of the flames where the mask will rest. We glue the mask to the flames with silicone.
Fijamos los cuernos y estuvo lista la máscara de los "Diablos danzantes de Yare".
We fixed the horns and the mask of the "Dancing Devils of Yare" was ready.
Ahora ya esta lista la máscara, observen lo hermosa que quedó.
Now the mask is ready, see how beautiful it is.
