Happy weekend, my dear creative friends. I hope you are all well, blessed with good health and happiness, and that the joy of Christmas is already all around you.
I always get really excited about creating and sharing little crafts with others. So when I was invited to teach a Christmas workshop at the library, I knew right away that I wanted to teach people how to make little Christmas crowns. They're simple, pretty, and perfect to wear as brooches during the holidays, so I thought they'd be the ideal choice for a group as diverse and enthusiastic as the one I was expecting that day.
When I arrived at the workshop space, I was surprised to see the participants so eager and smiling. There were children, young people, adults, and some grandparents who were happy to be doing this workshop. I loved the energy of everyone in the room, and so we got down to work.
Here are the materials and step-by-step instructions.

Para mí siempre es una gran ilusión crear y compartir pequeñas manualidades con los demás. Por eso, cuando me invitaron a dictar un taller navideño en la biblioteca, supe de inmediato que quería enseñar a hacer unas coronitas navideñas. Son sencillas, bonitas y perfectas para usar como broches durante las celebraciones, así que me parecieron la elección ideal para un grupo tan variado y entusiasta como el que esperaba ese día.
Cuando llegué al espacio del taller, me sorprendió ver a los participantes tan dispuestos y sonrientes. Había niños, jóvenes, adultos y algunos abuelitos que estaban felices de hacer este taller. Me encantó la energía de todos en la sala y así nos pusimos manos a la obra.
Les dejo los materiales y el paso a paso.

Materials
• Colored pipe cleaners (plain or gold glitter).
• Scissors (optional, if you want to trim the excess).
• Silicone or glue (to attach the bow and details).

• Tijeras (opcional, si quieres cortar el sobrante).
• Silicona o pegamento (para pegar el lazo y los detalles).

As I began to explain how we would shape the crowns using the one I had made at home as an example, I noticed that everyone was following each movement carefully. Some asked questions, others tried it without fear, and more than one laughed when the crown didn't seem to obey them at first. Little by little, each person shaped their own creation, giving it a unique and colorful style.
Step by step
- Take the two pieces of felt in the chosen colors and roll them together as if you were making a braid or spiral.
- When they are well twisted, form a circle and join the ends by turning them around to close.
- Then, glue on the little details, make a bow with ribbon, and glue it in the center.
- To finish, attach the pin to the back to use as a brooch, and you're done.
A medida que comencé a explicar cómo iríamos dando forma a las coronitas con la que había hecho en casa como ejemplo, noté que todos seguían cada movimiento con atención. Algunos hacían preguntas, otros lo intentaban sin miedo, y más de uno se reía cuando la coronita parecía no obedecerles al principio. Poco a poco, cada persona fue moldeando su propia creación, dándole un estilo único y lleno de color.
Paso a paso
- Se toman los dos limpiapipas de los colores escogidos y se enrollan entre sí como si hiciéramos una trenza o espiral.
- Cuando estén bien torciditas, formamos un círculo y unimos los extremos dando una vuelta para cerrar.
- Luego, pegamos los detallitos, hacemos un lacito con cinta y lo pegamos en el centro.
- Para terminarla, le ponemos el alfiler en la parte trasera para usarla como broche y listo.

And in the end, when we finished, the library was filled with charming little crowns. Seeing them worn as brooches on the participants' clothes was the most beautiful thing. They were proud, happy, and ready to wear them during the festivities. My heart was full too: I love teaching and sharing the joy of Christmas. 🎄✨
Y al final, cuando terminamos, la biblioteca se llenó de coronitas pequeñas y encantadoras. Verlas puestas como broches en la ropa de los participantes fue lo más hermoso. Estaban orgullosos, felices y listos para lucirlas en las festividades. Yo también me quedé con el corazón lleno: enseñar y compartir la alegría navideña me encanta. 🎄✨
