For this challenge I chose red satin fabric to make the flowers and the rest of the materials I also had on hand, so I decided to make what I had in mind, a headband for a girl with satin fabric flowers. So I put all my desire to elaborate my project, I organized my work table with all the materials and let's get to work.
Para este desafío escogí tela de satén color rojo para hacer las flores y el resto de los materiales también los tenía a la mano, así que me animé a hacer lo que tenía en mente, un cintillo para niña con flores de tela de satén. Así que puse todas mis ganas a elaborar mi proyecto, organicé mi mesa de trabajo con todos los materiales y manos a la obra.
MATERIALS//MATERIALES
- A piece of red satin.
- A headband.
- Thread and needle for sewing.
- Scissors.
- 3 pearls.
- 18 cm of lace.
- Silicone.
- Un retazo de satén color rojo.
- Un cintillo.
- Hilo y aguja para coser.
- Tijera.
- 3 Perlas.
- 18 cm de Encaje.
- Silicón.
STEPS//PASOS
- The first thing I did was to take the piece of red satin, measure 90cm linear by 4cm wide and cut a strip. Then with the help of an iron I made a double, leaving a thinner strip, which will be used to dress or line the headband.
- Lo primero que hice fue tomar el retazo de satén rojo, medir 90cm lineal por 4cm de ancho y cortar una tira. Luego con ayuda de una plancha le hice un dobles, quedando una tira más delgada, que me va a servir para vestir o forrar el cintillo..
- I started at one end of the headband, gluing it with hot silicone, then I passed the satin strip all around the headband, until I reached the other end, which I glued with silicone.
- Comencé por uno de los extremo del cintillo, pegando con silicón caliente, luego fui pasando la tira de satén por todo el cintillo, hasta llegar al otro extremo, el cual pegué con silicón.
- I looked for a glass to measure the top and bottom circle, placed it on the satin fabric, marked with a pencil and then cut.
- Busqué un vaso para tomar como medida el círculo superior e inferior, lo coloqué en el retazo de satén, marqué con un lápiz y luego corté.
- I cut one large and two small circles.
- Corté un círculo grande y dos pequeños.
- Then sew by hand, giving basic stitches around the pieces cut in a circle, then gather and finish with the same thread.
- Luego coser a mano, dando puntadas básicas alrededor de las piezas cortadas en círculo, luego fruncir y hacer un remate con el mismo hilo.
- Repeat the process with the rest of the pieces. In this way we form the flowers.
- Repetir el proceso con el resto de las piezas. Así vamos formando las flores.
- The 18 centimeters of lace, sew with basic stitches along the edge, then gather.
- Los 18 centímetros de encaje, coser con puntadas básica por la orilla, luego fruncir.
- Take the large red satin flower and place it on the white lace rosette, glue it with silicone. It is important to place a piece of fabric cut in the shape of a very small circle on the back of the lace rosette, to give firmness to the flower.
- Tomar la flor grande de satén rojo y colocarla sobre la roseta de encaje blanco, pegar con silicón. Es importante colocar un pedazo de tela cortada en forma de círculo muy pequeño en la parte posterior de la roseta de encaje, para darle firmeza a la flor.
- Now, glue the satin fabric flowers to the headband with silicone.
- Ahora, pegar con silicón las flores de tela de satén al cintillo.
- Give a decorative touch, gluing the pearls to each satin fabric flower with silicone.
- Darle un toque decorativo, pegando con silicón las perlas a cada flor de tela de satén.
- With dedication, I managed to get to the final result of my little project of a satin fabric flower headband for a girl with which I am participating in the flower challenge. When I was making the flower headband, I thought of my little neighbor, it is perfect as a gift for her, as I am sure she will be wearing it soon.
- Con dedicación, logré llegar hasta el resultado final de mi pequeño proyecto de un cintillo de flores de tela de satén para niña con el que participo en el desafío de las flores. Cuando estaba elaborando el cintillo de flores, pensé en mi pequeña vecina, es perfecto como regalo para ella, pues estoy segura que pronto lo va a lucir.
