Les comento que me gusta mucho esta técnica pero es laboriosa y requiere de mucho tiempo y cariño. Ya hace unos meses había iniciado con estos hexágonos de tela y la verdad no sabía que hacer hasta que ví esta publicación y pude animarme a terminar.
I like this technique a lot but it is laborious and requires a lot of time and love. A few months ago I had already started with these fabric hexagons and the truth is that I didn't know what to do until I saw this publication and I was encouraged to finish.
Te describo en detalle como lo hice y los materiales que utilicé para hacer este estuche para lentes.
I describe in detail how I made it and the materials I used to make this eyeglass case.
Materiales:
Retazos de tela
Papel reciclado
Hilo, aguja y tijeras
Guata
Tela de forro
Cinta al bies.
Cierre mágico.
Materials:
Fabric scraps
Recycled paper
Thread, needle and scissors
Wadding
Lining fabric
Bias tape.
Magic zipper.
Procedimiento:
Trace un hexágono pequeño, para aprovechar las telas pequeñas. Con la medidas que tiene la foto. Ese patrón lo saqué en cartón pues necesitaba manipularlo mucho.
Procedure:
Trace a small hexagon, to take advantage of the small fabrics. With the measurements of the photo. I drew this pattern on cardboard because I needed to manipulate it a lot.
Para que queden muy bien, corté otro hexágono con un centímetro más, para lo cual me servirá hacer el doblez por cada lado y que sea suficiente.
To make them look good, I cut another hexagon with one centimeter more, for which it will be useful to make the fold on each side and it will be enough.
Marqué sobre la tela y dejé el margen de costura suficiente.
I marked on the fabric and left enough seam allowance.
Con este patrón también corté muchos hexágonos de papel que servirán para fortalecer la tela.
Utilicé pegamento blanco para adherirlos a la tela suavemente.
With this pattern I also cut many paper hexagons that will serve to strengthen the fabric.
I used white glue to gently adhere them to the fabric.
Pasé un hilván por todo el alrededor, de cada hexágono de tela.
I ran a basting stitch all the way around each hexagon of fabric.
Cuando consideré que tenía suficientes, empecé a armar flores, combinándolo y luego empecé a coserlos a mano con costura escondida.
When I considered that I had enough, I started to assemble flowers, combining them and then I started to sew them by hand with hidden stitching.
Hasta coser todas las partes y así me fueron quedando las flores.
I sewed all the parts together and that's how I got the flowers.
Teniendo suficientes flores, dejé unos hexágonos reservados. Para trabajar en el patrón que necesitaba.
Hice este patrón en forma de corazón con las medidas que están en la fotografía. Y que al doblar se tiene un bello estuche.
Having enough flowers, I left a few hexagons reserved. To work on the pattern I needed.
I made this heart-shaped pattern with the measurements that are in the picture. And that when folded you have a beautiful case.
Ahora comienzo a colocar las flores y hexágonos necesarios para cubrir el patrón.
Now I begin to place the flowers and hexagons needed to cover the pattern.
Es importante taparlo por completo, así quedará bien.
It is important to cover it completely, so it will look good.
Le damos vuelta al revés y verificamos.
We turn it upside down and check.
Lo marqué con un color para saber por dónde cortar.
Además corté el mismo patrón en la tela de forro. Y también la guata, que estaría en el medio de ellas.

I also cut the same pattern in the lining fabric. And also the wadding, which would be in the middle of them.
Fui cosiendo poco a poco las orillas estirando bien.
I sewed the edges little by little, stretching them well.
Le coloqué la cinta al bien alrededor del estuche.
I attached the tape to the well around the case.
Luego cuidadosamente fui pasando la costura recta por cada hexágono para que quedara mejor cosido, además quité todos los hilvanes.
Then I carefully went over each hexagon with a straight stitch to make it sew better, and I removed all the basting stitches.
Tuve algunos inconvenientes con mi máquina de coser, pero decidí seguir y hacer los ajustes en casa de mi madre. Hice costura y deshilé hasta sentirme satisfecha. Le coloqué cierre mágico para cerrar el forro. Me hubiere gustado colocarle un broche mejor, pero esto es con lo que contaba.
I had some problems with my sewing machine, but I decided to go ahead and make the adjustments at my mother's house. I sewed and unstitched until I was satisfied. I put a magic clasp to close the lining. I would have liked a better clasp, but this is what I was counting on.
Para cerrar es de este modo.

Como algo adicionar le agregué un bello lazo elaborado con tela y encaje con un botón al centro y así tapo algunas imperfecciones.
As an addition I added a beautiful bow made with fabric and lace with a button in the center to cover some imperfections.
Este diseño nos permite tener bien guardados nuestros lentes en el bolso y encontrarlos fácilmente.
This design allows us to keep our glasses in our bag and find them easily.

Esta técnica es genial, permite hacer diseños muy lindos... Definitivamente se debe sacar el lado artístico que tengamos, muy laborioso este trabajo sin embargo el resultado estuve estupendo.

Tu manualidad tiene un grado de dificultad bastante grande, lo has logrado hermosamente. No solo coser los rombos con tanta paciencia y queden prolijos sino la forma del estuche para los lentes que es bastante llamativa. Gracias por participar.
