Hello friends of Hive, the holidays are approaching and as always we use candles to illuminate and decorate our table and home. Today I bring you a super simple tip, to remove the remains of candles from our candlesticks, and why not, that we can reuse some nice container where the scented candles come.
You will only need:
A pot
Water
A plastic container (in case your candlesticks are big).
Hola amigos de Hive! Se acercan las fiestas decembrinas y como siempre utilizamos velas para iluminar y decorar nuestra mesa y hogar. Hoy les traigo un tip super sencillo, para eliminar los restos de velas de nuestros candelabros, y por qué no, de que podamos reutilizar algún lindo recipiente donde vienen las velas aromáticas.
Solo necesitaras:
Una Olla
Agua
Un recipiente de plástico (en caso de que tus candelabros sean grandes).
Procedure / Procedimiento
Fill the pot with water and heat it, until it boils. Then, pour the hot water into the candlesticks until it covers the entire surface.
Llena la olla de agua y caliéntala, hasta que hierva. Luego, viertes el agua caliente en los candelabros hasta que cubra toda la superficie.
Wait a few minutes and you will see how the hot water melts the wax and a film of oil forms on the surface.
Espera unos minutos y verás como el agua caliente va derritiendo la cera y se va formando como una película de aceite sobre la superficie.
Wait about 15 to 20 minutes and see how the wax remains on the top, you can remove it with a spoon or plastic knife.
Espera unos 15 a 20 minutos y ve como en la parte superior se va quedando la cera, puedes retirarla con una cuchara o cuchillo de plástico.
If at the bottom of the candlestick there are still traces of wax, you can repeat the procedure until you manage to remove all the wax from the bottom; as these candlesticks were small I only did it three times and by the third time the wax that remained at the bottom was warm and I was able to remove it easily. Clean with water and a soft sponge any remaining wax.
Si en el fondo del candelabro aún quedan restos de cera, puedes repetir el procedimiento hasta que logres retirar toda la cera del fondo; como estos candelabros eran pequeños sólo lo realicé tres veces y ya en la tercera la cera que quedaba en el fondo estaba tibia y pude retirarla con facilidad. Limpia con agua y una esponja suave algunos restos de cera que pudieran quedar.

And if by chance, the candle wax has fallen on the floor you can use a hairdryer to heat the wax and once the wax has melted, clean with an absorbent paper, pass a spatula in case there are any remains and then pass the mop, as you normally do.
si por casualidad, la cera de vela a caído sobre el piso puedes pasar un secador para calentar la cera y una vez derretida la cera, limpia con un papel absorbente, pasa una espátula por si acaso ha quedado algún resto y luego pasas el trapeador, como lo haces normalmente.
If your tablecloth has been stained you can remove the solidified wax and then place two sheets of absorbent paper, paper or napkins, place one under the stain and the other on top and with the iron you place it in steam and pass over the absorbent paper with the iron giving it a few strokes of steam, you alternate the napkin or absorbent paper until you see how when you pass the iron it does not come out stained. and then wash your tablecloth as usual. I usually add a cup of vinegar to the load of laundry besides the soap, and your tablecloth is ready, free of wax residue!
Si se ha manchado tu mantel puedes retirar la cera solidificada y luego colocas dos hojas de papel absorbente, papel o servilletas, colocas una debajo de la mancha y la otra arriba y con la plancha la colocas en vapor y pasas sobre el papel absorbente con la plancha dándole unos golpes de vapor, vas alternando la servilleta o papel absorbente hasta que veas como ya al pasar la plancha no sale manchado. Luego lavas tu mantel como de costumbre. yo usualmente le coloco a parte del jabón una taza de vinagre a la carga de ropa de lavar. ¡Y listo tu mantel libre de restos de cera!
