DIY on how I made this beautiful short and top for my daughter

Good day to all my creative friends and hivediy community how are you all doing today happy weekend to you all .

Today I will love to share this beautiful two piece I made for my daughter and my self.

Material used

I bought two trouser length
Thread
Elastic for the waist

Cutting steps

I firstly cut the short I measure 14” plus 2” folding allowance after then I measured the waist then I measured 7” for the flap then I cut out the front piece and I place it on the material to cut out the back of piece.

The next step is the top I measure the Len of the top to be 12” and I cut out 3” band to add to the length after then I measured the shoulder to sleeve length because is cut together in form of kimono after cutting the body of the top I measured the neckline, the back neck is 2” width by 1” depth then the front neckline 2” by 5” and I cut out the 2” collar and fixed it .

Sewing step

Before joining the pieces together I firstly weave it then i join the short and the top and I give it good press and it came out beautiful on my daughter .

I wore it for my daughter and she refused to remove the cloth again she always know if she wearing new dress and she is be very happy.

She will not stay in one place to take pictures 😁😘.
