Hola amigos creativos de esta bella comunidad espero estén teniendo una linda semana. Hoy quiero contarles sobre un disfraz de indio que mi hijo utilizó para su baile de fin de año en la escuela.
En casa tenía este gran pedazo de tela de saco y pues esa fue la base para todo el atuendo así que busqué muchas ideas y decidí ponerme manos a la obra.
Hello creative friends of this beautiful community. I hope you are having a nice week. Today I want to tell you about an Indian costume that my son used for his end of the year dance at school.
At home I had this big piece of sackcloth and that was the base for the whole outfit so I looked for many ideas and decided to get down to work.
Lo primero que hice fue cortar la tela utilizando como guía una camisa de mi hijo pero cortando el cuello en v, luego cosí a mano únicamente la parte de los hombros y a los lados lo deje abierto, como una especie de delantal, cosi a 5 centímetros aproximadamente del borde de la tela a los lados en línea recta para luego deshilachar un poco y que los flecos se detuvieran en la costura.
The first thing I did was to cut the fabric using as a guide a shirt of my son but cutting the v-neck, then I sewed by hand only the part of the shoulders and the sides I left it open, as a kind of apron, I sewed about 5 centimeters from the edge of the fabric to the sides in a straight line and then frayed a little and the bangs were stopped in the seam.
Para coser está parte utilice los mismos hilos que saqué de los flecos que hice y cosi con una aguja gruesa, ya que con hilo normal no sujetaba bien la tela.
Está tela de saco se deshilacha muy fácil así que por esto fui muy cuidadosa de no dejar nada suelto.
To sew this part I used the same threads that I took out of the bangs I made and sewed with a thick needle, since with normal thread it didn't hold the fabric well.
This sack fabric frays very easily so I was very careful not to leave anything loose.
Al terminar el camisón, cosí con hilo normal cinta de zig zag color rojo alrededor del cuello para decorar.
Luego corte una franja larga de 5cm de ancho aproximadamente para hacer el cinturón que sostiene el camisón alrededor de la cintura y cosí las cintas de zig zag amarilla y verde a lo largo del cinturón. Para sostenerlo pegue con silicón un cierre de velcro o cierre mágico a cada punta.
When the nightgown was finished, I sewed red zig zag ribbon around the neck with regular thread for decoration.
Then I cut a long strip about 5cm wide to make the belt that holds the nightgown around the waist and sewed the yellow and green zig zag ribbons along the belt. To hold it in place I attached a velcro or magic clasp to each end with silicone.
En el típico disfraz de indio venezolano los niños van descalzos y como en este caso no iba a estar sin zapatos quise decorar también las botas que se iba a poner. Corte una franja ancha de unos 13cm de ancho y unos 30cm de largo para envolver el zapato, deshilache un poco la tela para crear flecos también y decore con cinta zig zag color rojo.
In the typical Venezuelan Indian costume children go barefoot and as in this case I was not going to be without shoes I also wanted to decorate the boots he was going to wear. I cut a wide strip about 13cm wide and about 30cm long to wrap around the shoe, frayed the fabric a little to create bangs and decorated with red zig zag tape.
Una de las partes que más me gustó de este disfraz fue hacer la pluma, pero pensé en hacer algo diferente y que se viera muy artesanal, así que no hice la típica pluma en la cabeza sino que la puse en un collar tejido con algunas cuentas de pulseras.
One of the parts I liked the most of this costume was to make the feather, but I thought of doing something different and that looked very handmade, so I didn't make the typical feather on the head but I put it on a necklace woven with some beads from bracelets.
Para hacer la pluma tome un hilo largo de la misma tela que había deshilachado y comencé a anudar hilos cortos a lo largo del hilo central, apretando muy bien los nudos y poniéndolos muy juntos unos de otros.
To make the feather I took a long thread of the same fabric that I had frayed and started to knot short threads along the central thread, tightening the knots very well and putting them very close to each other.
Al terminar de anudar todos los hilos, a lo largo, tome un cepillo y lo pase por los flecos para darle un aspecto más peludo, luego corte con la tijera para darle la forma de pluma y pinte los colores con marcadores.
Al terminar la pluma teji una clineja para el collar y agregue algunas cuentas de pulseras.
When I finished knotting all the threads lengthwise, I took a brush and ran it along the bangs to give it a hairier look, then I cut with the scissors to give it the shape of a feather and painted the colors with markers.
When I finished the feather I wove a necklace loop and added some bracelet beads.
Este fue el resultado, al principio mi hijo estaba desanimado porque pensaba que el disfraz no se vería bien, pero al ponérselo le gustó mucho todos los detalles que le puse y lo genial que se veía.
This was the result, at first my son was discouraged because he thought the costume wouldn't look good, but when he put it on he really liked all the details I put on it and how great it looked.
