I am making another appearance in this wonderful community to show you the craft I made to present my participation in the Valentine's Day Contest ❣️ I decided to make a breakfast tray with recycled materials. When I talk about recycling, I'm talking about making the most of the materials or supplies I have at home. For this occasion, I decided to take a little black box that comes inside the boxes of the figure structures that my husband Adrian collects: Warhammer 40000. My husband is a collector and reseller of these figures and since I see an opportunity to exploit my creativity in everything I consider useful material, I saw the perfect opportunity to make a craft with one of these little boxes.
These little boxes vary in size depending on the contents inside, so I chose one at random from several I have saved to recreate this craft. I decided to use it on February 14 to give my husband a surprise breakfast. It is very simple and easy to make, so let's get to work ✂️📏
Materiales a necesitar // Materials needed:
✓ Una cajita negra sin tapa. (Sus medidas son 30 cm de largo, 7cm de alto y 21,5cm de ancho. Pero puedes conseguir una caja que se amolde a sus necesidad. Desde una cajita de zapatos hasta una cajita de algún electrodoméstico).
✓ 2 palillos de altura.
✓ Cartulina de manualidad en color rojo y rosado.
✓ Papel de relleno de color azul.
✓ Tijera.
✓ Pegamento blanco escolar.
✓ Lápiz o lapicero.
✓ ½ metro de hilo de bordar negro.
✓ 2 Pinzas de ropa.
✓ Cinta adhesiva.
✓ Grapadora.
✓A small black box without a lid. (Its measures are 30 cm long, 7cm high and 21.5cm wide. But you can get a box that fits your needs. From a shoe box to an appliance box).
✓ 2 tall sticks.
✓ Craft card stock in red and pink.
✓ Blue colored filler paper.
✓ Scissors.
✓ White school glue.
✓ Pencil or pencil.
✓ ½ meter of black embroidery thread.
✓ 2 clothespins.
✓ Adhesive tape.
✓ Stapler.

- Primero realice las decoraciones que van fuera de la cajita. Realicé dos tipos de corazón superpuestos: uno en forma de acordeón y el otro como si fuesen alas de mariposa posando. Para ellos, recorté 2 círculos de 2 diferentes tamaños en ambas cartulinas de manualidad. Para el corazón de acordeón, recorte el círculo más grande (14cm de diametro) en la cartulina de color rojo y el más pequeño (10cm de diámetro) en la cartulina de color rosado. Una vez recortados, utilicé la técnica de doblado de forma de acordeón. Fijé la mitad del círculo y apartir de allí doblé la figura para formar un corazón. Realice el mismo procedimiento para el círculo de color rosado y los uní con ayuda de una grapadora. Luego lo coloque uno sobre otro con ayuda de pegamento blanco y una pinza de ropa para que lo sujetara.
First I made the decorations that go on the outside of the box. I made two types of overlapping hearts: one in the shape of an accordion and the other as if they were butterfly wings posing. For them, I cut out 2 circles of 2 different sizes on both craft cards. For the accordion heart, I cut out the larger circle (14cm diameter) from the red cardstock and the smaller circle (10cm diameter) from the pink cardstock. Once they were cut out, I used the accordion fold technique. I pinned the middle of the circle and from there folded the shape to form a heart. I did the same procedure for the pink circle and joined them together with the help of a stapler. Then I placed them one on top of the other with the help of white glue and a clothespin to hold them together.
- Para el corazón que simulaba la pose de las alas de una mariposa, recorté la forma de corazón más grande en la cartulina rosada y el corazón más pequeño en la cartulina roja. Doblé el corazón rojo a la mitad y lo pegué en el medio del corazón rosado con ayuda de pegamento. También lo sujete con una pinza para fijarlo mejor.
For the heart that simulated a butterfly's wing pose, I cut out the larger heart shape from the pink card stock and the smaller heart from the red card stock. I folded the red heart in half and glued it in the middle of the pink heart with glue. I also attached it with a clothespin to secure it better.
- Luego me dispuse a recortar 5 corazones pequeños para el banderín de la bandeja. Los hice con ayuda de un molde de la misma cartulina y recorte 5 corazones: 3 rosados y 2 rojos. Tomé el hilo negro de bordar y posicioné los corazones en orden. Recorte pedacitos pequeños de la cinta plástica y se los coloqué detrás, entre el hilo y los corazones de cartulina. Luego recorte los excedentes de cinta adhesiva con la tijera. Tomé los palillos de altura y até el banderín a ellos y lo coloqué y pegué en la parte de atrás de la bandeja.
Then I cut out 5 small hearts for the tray banner. I made them with the help of a mold from the same card stock and cut out 5 hearts: 3 pink and 2 red. I took the black embroidery thread and positioned the hearts in order. I cut small pieces of the plastic tape and placed them behind, between the string and the cardboard hearts. Then I trimmed off the excess tape with the scissors. I took the tall sticks and tied the pennant to them and placed and glued it to the back of the tray.
- Por último, rellene la caja con papel azul y agregue algunas golosinas como el frasco miniatura de Nutella, además de un frasco de salsa de tomate y un refresco Coca Cola que compré en el supermercado. El sándwich y las galletas fueron hechos en casa.
Finally, fill the box with blue paper and add some goodies like the miniature jar of Nutella, plus a jar of tomato sauce and a Coca Cola soda I bought at the supermarket. The sandwich and cookies were homemade.
