No tenía palabras.
Yo siempre he sentido lo mismo.

ENGLISH SPANISH PEACE
I am what they call a confirmed bachelor, because although I am close to needing a cane, there is still no woman who shares my life, because those who have passed, have done that: pass. Sometimes I evoke one or the other, but there are a few that I don't even remember.
But there is a woman in my life besides my mother. This is Paz, my goddaughter. How did she get a goddaughter, a bachelor like me?
Well, very easy actually, just one of those tricks that life does to one. I will tell you the story.
When my best friend got married, his intelligent wife allowed our friendship to continue without hindering it at all, on the contrary, I was a constant guest at his small and intimate gatherings.
And Peace came
At a meeting, where I was the only guest, they announced to me their decision to become parents, as they felt that their maturity as a couple would not be complete without an offspring carrying their genes.
Even though I feared that the new situation would keep me from their lives, the friendship grew stronger, to the point that I accompanied Pablo while he waited at the hospital and was the first, after of her parents, who placed the baby in her arms.
I had never held a child in my arms, but today I still remember the strange emotion that came over me when holding the warm little body on my chest. And even though they say babies don't smile, I swear I saw her smile. At that moment I felt a very special bond with the girl who marked me forever. Seeing her smile or play or simply hold her hand filled me with peace, with tranquility; she took me from agitation to calm.
Smiling between flowers
I never thought tragedy would touch the lives of my dear friends, but it did, and very hard. Paz was orphaned at the age of nine. A car accident took her parents. She was in my care that day, like some other days, but I had to ask my mother for support to break the news about her. She was speechless.
My mother was also very special in providing relief in big worries. She had barely shared with Paz, but seeing her and hugging her, she told me that her aura was very bright and that she would know how to handle the situation. She disapproved of my idea ofhiding the terrible news from her.
Looking into the girl's deep eyes, I felt calmer and bluntly informed her of her parents' fatal accident, containing my pain so as not to exacerbate hers. Her eyes became inscrutable, she hugged me rather roughly and cried on my shoulder. My mother joined us in the hug.
From that day on, Paz began to practice meditation, advised by my mother. Both hit it off very well. My mother claimed that talking to Paz was a haven of peace. I've always felt the same.

Paz really handled the loss of her parents very well. In truth, she has done better than me.
I thought the painful loss might affect her love life. Besides, my example of a lonely man is not the best, but what's up! At twenty-four years old, Paz is thinking about her marriage, with a boyfriend I had to approve of because he's so in love that you can tell from a distance.
It comforts me to know that Paz will live love as her parents did, fully! I hope her life will be much longer.
