Las veces que veía ver que las nubes estaban negritas comenzaba a saltar y de una vez a pedirle permiso a mi mamá para bañarme en la lluvia, algunas veces decía que sí, otras que no, pero cuando nos daba permiso y digo nos daba porque no sólo era a mí sino también a mis hermanas, salíamos corriendo a jugar debajo de la lluvia, en casa de mi mamá hay varios árboles frutales, en todo el medio del patio hay una mata enorme de mangos y cuando llovía, éstos comenzaban a caer, allí aprovechábamos y los recogíamos para luego comerlos o regalarlos.

En mi casa el techo era de zing, y había una parte donde el zing estaba un poco hundido, era como una canal, el chorro de agua que salía por allí era muy grande, y allí nos colocabámos como si estuviéramos en una regadera, cuando veíamos que la lluvia estaba por terminar, comenzábamos a cantar una canción que yo creo todos la conocen: Que llueva, que llueva, la vieja está en la cueva, los pajaritos cantan, la vieja se levanta, que sí, que no, que caiga un chaparrón de agua y de limón, es muy popular, yo creo que hoy día los niños la cantan mucho.

Cuando terminaba la lluvia mi mamá nos sacaba esa agua, nos colocaba medias y nos hacía un guarapito de monte o una limonada caliente, esto para prevenir cualquier enfermedad, si continuaba lloviendo, nos poniamos a ver una pelicula o alguna comiquita mientras terminaba la lluvia.

Me gustaba mucho dormir escuchando la lluvia caer en el techo, cuando no podía bañarme en ella porque estaba enferma sólo me sentaba a observar a mis hermanas disfrutar de la lluvia.
I loved to sleep listening to the rain falling on the roof, when I couldn't bathe in it because I was sick I would just sit and watch my sisters enjoy the rain.

Hoy día cuando llueve me siento en la ventana de mi cuarto a observar la lluvia caer, me gusta ver como corre el agua por las calles, algunas veces mi hijo se baña bajo la lluvia, y le hago lo mismo que me hacía mi madre cuando estaba pequeña, lo que no me gustaba era que después de unos días de haber pasado la lluvia, mi papá conseguía culebras en el patio de la casa, esto para mí era espantoso, porque les tengo mucho miedo, mi mamá muy poco nos acompañaba en esta aventura ella sólo nos observaba, y cuando decía ya, teníamos que dejar dejar de bañarnos, yo creo que mi mamá disfrutaba mucho al vernos a nosotras jugar y correr bajo la lluvia, nunca lo decía pero yo creo que es así, son momentos inolvidables.
Today when it rains I sit at my bedroom window to watch the rain fall, I like to see how the water runs through the streets, sometimes my son takes a bath in the rain, and I do the same thing my mother did to me when I was little, what I didn't like was that after a few days of rain, my dad would get snakes in the backyard of the house, This was frightening for me, because I am very afraid of them, my mother accompanied us very little in this adventure, she only watched us, and when she said, we had to stop bathing, I think my mother enjoyed watching us play and run in the rain, she never said it but I think it is so, they are unforgettable moments.
