To carry out this kind of photographic recording, I often use distance and my position in equal parts... That is why in almost all the photos in this series, the subjects appear to be looking anywhere but never towards me.

It's funny how I've managed to develop a certain ability to carry my camera in my backpack slung across my chest and sneak it out and then quickly stow it away (and bear in mind that my old Nikon D7000 is a huge hulk of a camera that weighs well over a kilogram with a lens attached).

Usually my favourite combination of parameters is Semi-Auto Aperture Mode (A) with an aperture of F/8 (the sweet spot of that lens in my opinion) and an ISO of 800, which is always enough to maintain good shutter speeds and extract the maximum focusing speed from the lens.

Regarding the emotional part of the photos, I have to say that it is quite meaningful, as it is about looking at the people who have been around me for decades in most cases... And when I'm editing these photos, I think I tend to understand them better than I usually do (for me it's not very common to get intimate with people, so doing this is like an "exercise" for my precarious socialising skills).
Con respecto a la parte emotiva de las fotos, tengo que decir que es bastante significativa, pues se trata de mirar a las personas que han estado a mi alrededor por décadas en la mayoría de los casos... Y Cuando estoy editando estas fotos, creo que tiendo a comprenderles mejor de lo que usualmente hago (no es muy común en mi, intimar con personas, así que hacer esto es como un "ejercicio" para mi precaria capacidad de socializar).

Interesante trabajo dentro de la cotidianidad. Me gusta como captas el alma de las personas a través de la fotografía. Se puede ver en su rostro la sencillez y la humildad. Que bueno leerte y conocer tus limitaciones, y tus fortalezas. Tengo varios amigos fotógrafos y te entiendo perfectamente. Creo que sería algo que haría si tuviera una Cámara en buen Estado. That "First story" is about the blacksmith workshop of my friend Elio (right) better known in the village as "El Vespa"... He is already a character of the village, he is also an empirical musician, and a fan of reggae... He is an iconic character and his workshop is decorated with images alluding to his favourite music....
