El béisbol en la vida de Pedro | Reflexión [ESP-ENG]

En un pueblo muy lejos de la ciudad vivía un niño que le apasionaban los deportes, específicamente el béisbol, nunca se perdía un partido de la temporada. Su padre fue jugador profesional en su época de juventud, ahora le enseñaba a su hijo todo lo que él sabía para qué fuera el próximo beisbolista de la familia. Pedro junto a su padre cada fin de semana iban al estadio del pueblo donde pasaban horas y horas entrenando, compartiendo experiencias, riéndose y lo más importante lo estaba enseñando a mejorar su lanzamiento con la pelota. Este joven tenía como reto pertenecer al equipo más importante de béisbol de la ciudad, así que pondrá todo su esfuerzo para lograrlo.

In a town far away from the city lived a boy who was passionate about sports, specifically baseball, he never missed a game of the season. His father was a professional player in his youth, now he was teaching his son everything he knew so he could be the next baseball player in the family. Pedro and his father would go to the town's stadium every weekend where they would spend hours and hours training, sharing experiences, laughing and most importantly teaching him how to improve his pitching. This young man had the challenge of belonging to the most important baseball team in the city, so he will put all his effort to achieve it.

Cada mañana antes de salir al estadio Pedro tenía como responsabilidad organizar su cuarto, ayudar a su madre en las actividades del hogar, después de eso se sentaba junto a su padre en el porche de su casa a conversar y planificar como sería su entrenamiento, para así no perder tiempo. Algunas veces no hacía ninguna de esas dos actividades, ya que se sentía muy cansado y agotado por el entrenamiento, su madre lo entendía y no le decía nada, aun si demostraba una actitud de campeón. Pedro, una vez en el estadio se imaginaba su vida como un beisbolista y comenzaba a entrenar.

Una vez que tocaba el terreno del campo de béisbol se sentía muy contento y seguro de sí mismo, soñaba con ser el mejor jugador y pertenecer al equipo. Empezaba su entrenamiento estirando cada parte de su cuerpo para así evitar una lesión, era algo que siempre su padre le recordaba, a veces por lo rápido se le olvida hacerlo. Se preparaba y comenzaba a tirarle pelotas a su padre.

Every morning before leaving for the stadium, Pedro had the responsibility to organize his room, help his mother with the household activities, after that he would sit with his father on the porch of his house to talk and plan how his training would be, so as not to waste time. Sometimes he didn't do either of those two activities, as he felt very tired and exhausted by the training, his mother understood him and didn't say anything, even if he showed a champion attitude. Pedro, once at the stadium, imagined his life as a baseball player and started training.

Once he touched the baseball field he felt very happy and self-confident, he dreamed of being the best player and belonging to the team. He started his training by stretching every part of his body to avoid injury, it was something his father always reminded him to do, sometimes he forgot to do it so fast. He would get ready and start throwing balls to his father.

Pedro siempre intentaba lanzar la pelota cada vez más rápida, pero no podía, sabía que estaba haciendo algo malo y no se daba cuenta, aun así no dejaba de lanzar hasta que por fin de tantos intentos consiguió la velocidad que su padre le había dicho. Paso toda la tarde perfeccionando y mejorando ese movimiento hasta que cayó la noche y se fueron a su casa, ya que el estadio no tenía buena iluminación, hasta el día siguiente para volver a entrenar. De regreso pedro le pregunto a su padre

— Papá, porque de tanto lanzar pelota me duele mucho el brazo derecho, no podía dominar ese movimiento y creo que no me siento preparado para entrar a ese equipo que tanto deseo.

El padre de inmediato le respondió con mucho cariño, muchos de los campeones y deportista han pasado por esta misma situaciones de desesperación, angustia e incluso han estado a segundos de abandonar, simplemente necesitas relajarte y seguir concentrado, ya que vas por buen camino, además sabe que cuenta con mi apoyo en lo que quieras.

Pedro always tried to throw the ball faster and faster, but he couldn't, he knew he was doing something wrong and didn't realize it, even so he didn't stop throwing until finally after so many attempts he got the speed that his father had told him. He spent the whole afternoon perfecting and improving that movement until night fell and they went home, since the stadium was not well lit, until the next day to train again. On the way back, Pedro asked his father

— Dad, because of throwing the ball so much my right arm hurts a lot, I could not master that movement and I think I do not feel ready to join that team that I want so much.

The father immediately responded with much affection, many of the champions and athletes have gone through this same situation of despair, anguish and have even been seconds away from giving up, you just need to relax and stay focused, as you are on the right track, also know that you have my support in whatever you want.

Luego de varios días de entrenamientos Pedro se sentía mucho mejor en cuanto a los movimientos y lanzamientos, ya no le dolía el brazo, comenzó a practicar para ser bateador, ya que también tenía algo de talento. Sentía tanto amor por el béisbol que su padre le había dado como regalo de su cumpleaños, un guante muy bonito y cómodo. Un día se dirigió al estadio, pero esta vez era para presentar las pruebas de clasificación para entrar al equipo de la ciudad, habían muchos niños de su edad que también aspiraban ese puesto, así que las cosas no serán nada fácil. Pasaron varios niños y llego el turno de Pedro, con una actitud positiva, se paró al frente de los jurados y comenzó.

Los primeros tres lanzamientos estuvieron un poco flojo, aun así tenía varios intentos, sin embargo, para cuando realizó su último lanzamiento hizo un mal movimiento y sintió un tirón en el hombro, fue tan fuerte el dolor que causo que se lanzara al piso y comenzará a llorar, nunca le había pasado algo así. Su padre no podía creerlo y corrió hacia donde estaba su hijo, de inmediato lo llevo a la sala de emergencia y le inmovilizaron el brazo. Pedro estaba muy triste porque no sabía si había conseguido este puesto que tanto quería.

After several days of training Pedro felt much better in terms of movements and pitches, his arm no longer hurt, he started practicing to be a hitter, since he also had some talent. He felt so much love for baseball that his father had given him a very nice and comfortable glove as a birthday present. One day he went to the stadium, but this time it was to present the qualifying tests to enter the city team, there were many children his age who also aspired to that position, so things would not be easy. Several children passed and it was Pedro's turn, with a positive attitude, he stood in front of the judges and began.

The first three throws were a little weak, even so he had several attempts, however, when he made his last throw he made a bad move and felt a pull in his shoulder, the pain was so strong that it caused him to throw himself to the floor and begin to cry, something like this had never happened to him before. His father could not believe it and ran to where his son was, he immediately took him to the emergency room and they immobilized his arm. Pedro was very sad because he did not know if he had gotten the job he wanted so much.

Pasaron varias semanas de aquel accidente que ocurrió en el estadio, Pedro ya estaba mucho mejor, solamente fue un desgarre del músculo de tanto entrenamiento seguido y no tener un descanso adecuado. Así que decido comenzar a practicar con ambos brazo, es algo un poco difícil de lograr, pero con la práctica y la dedicación se puede.

Llego el día de dar los resultados finales de la prueba veía que muchos de sus compañeros brincaban y saltaban de la felicidad, ya que lo habían logrado, sin embargo, una vez que Pedro vio la lista de los clasificados, noto que su nombre estaba de último, se fue corriendo donde estaba su padre, para abrazarlo y contarle esa gran noticia, no paraba de llorar de la felicidad, el padre lo abrazo y le dijo:

— Hijo, esta es una oportunidad que quizás muchos niños de tu edad quisieran tener, te felicito, estoy muy orgulloso de ti por tu esfuerzo, ahora tendrás que esforzarte mucho más, tomar y escuchar consejos, también habrán días donde te canses o te fatigues, lo importante es continuar y disfrutar tu puesto de pícher que tanto querías.

The day came to give the final results of the test, he saw that many of his teammates were jumping and jumping with happiness, because they had achieved it, however, once Pedro saw the list of the classified, he noticed that his name was last, he went running to his father, to hug him and tell him the great news, he couldn't stop crying with happiness, his father hugged him and said: "Son, this is a great opportunity, this is a great opportunity for you:

— Son, this is an opportunity that perhaps many children of your age would like to have, I congratulate you, I am very proud of you for your effort, now you will have to try much harder, take and listen to advice, there will also be days where you get tired or fatigued, the important thing is to continue and enjoy your position as a picher that you wanted so much.

Pedro, nunca abandono el béisbol, en incluso consiguió una beca deportiva para irse fuera del país, ahora lo único que le queda es darle gracias a su padre por todo el apoyo y cariño que le brindo durante su niñez, ya que sin él sería otra persona.
