Junto a la orilla del río discurría las aguas,
al tiempo que el barquero las oía discurrir.
Un vivir en calma mientras cruzando el río
los días y las estaciones fluían sin contar.
A la voz del río prestaba el barquero su oído
cuando en la tarde serena le hablaba de paz.
Cuando la noche de lluvia crecida, ruge feroz.
Cuando su alma se inquieta le habla del mar.
Propósito encontró el barquero a la orilla del río,
Sentido y paz, cruzando al viajero que va a pasar.
Él que ya no viene ni va, observa a los que pasan.
La barca es la misma, pero el río cambia a diario.
Cada mañana trae lo que arrastro de la montaña,
cada tarde su murmullo cuenta una historia pasada,
cuando no le susurra una nana que le hace soñar.
Sueños del ayer, sueños de la vida del mañana.
Río de hoy que no conociste al de ayer, aunque.
Aunque se llamen igual. El barquero tampoco lo es.
Al de ayer, su tiempo se le va pasando y el río
un día se llevará la barca y el barquero al mar.
