The nymph's apprentice

With the arrival of winter, with the whistling of the wind, with a gray look devoid of fear. Heart of the wild, imposing and thirsty for longing. With the dawn and the singing of birds high in the trees, immersed in legends and tales of shamans. I encountered on an adventurous journey a beautiful creature beyond the valley.

My head was bleeding and my heartbeat was slow, my will was gently falling, but in the middle of the night she came to me, giving me breath. I had emerged from the bushes and witnessed when climbing, I had failed, falling into the abyss. It was curiosity, perhaps a simple chance, but in Norway a sister had discovered.

Closing my eyes with fervor, letting myself be cared for by her favor. She was unreal, mesmerizing and wonderful. Silver hair and a penetrating gaze like waves on the high seas. My hair was black but otherwise everything was similar, except that she was evidently covered with a certain mysticism. She took me to her cave and while I was healing she taught me many things.

I felt like a little girl next to her, like a child learning to draw. On her skin she bore scars that she could not hide. Hunted, abused and healed by her ancestral magic. She could not speak but one day in my mind she let some words roll, that was her way of communicating, something that humans have not yet been able to achieve.

Her skin was resistant like crystalline stone molded by the sea, allowing her to survive not only the centuries, but also the cruelty of humanity. On its head delicate branches like the antennae of a silver butterfly. Pointed ears like a fairy and with its purple blood it could restore almost any damage suffered by the fauna.

More than a praise it was a pagan feast, deer, birds and more animals came to see her, always bowing their heads as a reverence, she healed them from bites and arrows. Deep eyes and incredible dexterity. She was the soul of this part of nature. I felt I was apprenticed to royalty.

And one day my hair turned silver in a lock, her magic had entered me but I felt no fear or dread. One full moon night to the lake he took me, it had been three years since he saved me. Entering the warm water that reached our chests, it was the first time I saw her smile and that scared me. She looked sad and did not suppress her tears. She hugged me tightly and said goodbye in my mind. That night the moon transformed my hair and my body absorbed its magic.

As I emerged from the lake my hair was silver, on my head two stag horns had grown and between my arms I now carried a beautiful red-haired woman without a heartbeat. The succession had been completed and on the shore of the lake the animals before me bowed. My heart had been broken. I had been enchanted by the nymph of the valley making her my safe place, my nest. And now she was gone, but not before promising to continue her mission, to be the guardian of the flora and fauna of this corner of the world isolated in oblivion.

Saludos @gislandpoetic
