Pandemic Poetry Challenge / Vulnerability (ENG - ESP)

in Writing Club3 years ago (edited)

Hello Hivers, I hope you are very well and are taking all preventive measures of personal care in these difficult times and circumstances we are living, I would like to take advantage of my inspiration at this time to join the challenge "The Vyral Poetry" proposed by @riverflows.

Currently as unpleasant as it may be, we are living very strong and delicate times, this pandemic has become a global phenomenon somewhat worrying and I would like to take the opportunity to unburden myself a little and provide a poem in which I specify generally, speaking as I interpret and perceive these current phenomena in relation to this virus and how we as a species are so vulnerable to phenomena of this nature, I hope you enjoy the reading.

As a species we always seek to be superior and to control,
but it is that greed consumed by illusions that now condemns us and reminds us of how fragile we really are,
how fragile we really are, nature takes its place and reminds us, one more day how vulnerable we are,
one more day how vulnerable we are and with our lives and through breathlessness we have to pay.

A new weapon of natural cleansing has been adapted that does not judge gender, sex or condition
beginning as an outbreak this beginning and now a threat that deprives us reminds us that we will always be at the mercy of so many,
that we will always be at the mercy of so many changes, that in our life externally we have no control,
at the moment we adapt and accept with resignation and melancholy the new normality.

How much time and measures we put in between to feel safe, our homes are now only a prison and shelter for us.
Our homes are now just a prison and shelter from a threat that you cannot see until it is too late,
It is this new reality, so frightening and so raw, that really makes you value more, not only your life, but the lives of others,

It proliferates and spreads as well as our fears, feeding itself little by little with the frustration, anger and doubt that has left us perplexed,
through so many means the virus not only takes over our body,
but of our mind trying to claim something more than our shells without strength, without life, just exhausted and inert,
the price for your oxygen becomes more terrifying and real.

Actually through adaptation I am grateful to be preventive, nature and life are something not to be taken lightly,
so precious is the time that is treasured now
as there are others of which no longer enjoy their life with us now, so vulnerable are we and yet so brave,
that no matter what happens in mind and spirit with these circumstances together we can be strong.

I would like to invite the following users to participate in this challenge @mau189gg @amma21

I love love your skull divider - it's brilliant!

I really love the repetition of some key words in this poem, for example, the repetition of vulnerable in the first stanza, and 'mercy' in the second. It really enforces those concepts.

resignation and melancholy the new normality

Gosh, this nailed it - at first we were anxious and scared, then that changed - so many of us are exhausted and depressed! I love that despite all of that, you end on a note of encouragement and strength too - it's amazing how we have found courage and strength in these times, and supported each other.

Thanks so much for sharing - I can't tell you what it means to me that you went to the effort to do so.

I really loved reading this - thankyou so very much and take care, stay safe. xx

Thank you very much for your words, the truth is that in one way or another I wanted to touch the theme of the pandemic as a topic in the community, either as a poem in this case or to inquire in a reflective way, I liked to emphasize the vulnerability of human greed more than anything else as a concept and thought towards those who believe that by having dominion over others or over many goods they can do anything through the abuse of "power" and with respect to what you say, we were at the mercy of something that had not happened globally and that somehow affects the long term physically, mentally and emotionally, thanks for your words, I'm glad you liked it.

Some tip's from Charles before you give it a try ,.. ;-)
