Welcome back splinterlands fans,
Back again with another update and this time it is all about the Grand Prix event that kicked off last week. I must say, I am enjoying it a lot. Watching brand new players pick up the game, learn the ropes, and actually climb through the ranks is something special.
It brings that early game feeling back, the excitement of discovering strategies for the first time, and honestly i'm also learning more about the modern meta 😍.
There is one big side note on the whole event. Content is still a bit limited. I hope this event will continue for more seasons because I want to see much more of the new player experience.
I want to see how they handle the learning curve. I want to see what they enjoy and what they struggle with. We have a big opportunity here to learn how fresh eyes see the game. That can help the team refine onboarding and also help the community understand where to focus support.
I watched a couple of streams already. Mainly from @teamdmoney, or dmoney on Twitch. Really good stuff. He handles the game like a pro 👏.
A smooth learning curve is always nicer together with support. Big shoutout to @synist3r (Tales from the Crypt Mancer) supporting and guiding him like a pro.
I hope more content creators will join in and stream their Grand Prix experience. I want to see honest reactions. The good things. The confusing things. The things they do not like. That feedback is gold.
Since I was watching the event unfold I also noticed something. Many of the new players had trouble understanding what exactly they received from delegations. It was not easy for supporters to track their own delegations either. So it was clear the dashboard needed an update. Let me walk you through the new additions.

Social Links Added
First upgrade. I added social links for all Grand Prix participants. Many thanks to @warrentrx for collecting them and pointing them out in the chats. This makes it much easier to follow your favorite participant. You can hop directly into their Twitch, YouTube, or X profile and check how they are progressing.

New Specific Participant Dashboard

When you click a participant profile you now get a more detailed dashboard.
Right at the top you see how many players are supporting this participant. Both SPS delegators and card delegators are counted. It also shows the top 10 supporters which is nice to highlight community involvement.

Card Overview
The most important part is the updated card overview screen.
This was the section that needed the most love because delegates and supporters were struggling to see what a participant actually owns versus what is delegated to them.
Now the highest level version of each card is clearly shown. When you hover over the card you see exactly who delegated it. If the participant owns the card themselves that is also displayed. This makes the whole thing much more transparent.

And maybe the most helpful part. You also see what cards the participant is missing. That makes it super easy for supporters to step in and delegate exactly what is needed.
You can even filter down by splinter, rarity, edition, modern only, and more.
For example if you want to check all modern Fire cards you can do that with one click.

Final Thoughts
I genuinely enjoy the Grand Prix event because it pushes community involvement. The participants are getting a huge amount of support. Some of the delegated decks look better than my own, actually much better
The event is organized in a way that rewards the current player for helping out. That is exactly the type of ecosystem growth Splinterlands needs. Veterans supporting newcomers. Newcomers exploring the game. And the game gaining visibility through streams.
I hope more creators jump in and show their honest experience. I hope the team keeps gathering feedback. And I hope we get multiple seasons of this because the potential is massive.
That is all for this week. Thanks for reading and hope to see you all on the battlefield.

Great work again!
Good to see at a glance what the players are missing, i've only managed to catch the DMoney stream but i thought the way he worked through the game was great, hopefully the others get streaming, with 3 of them at an event in Manila there could be some good streams coming up
Yeah, more of the them are apparently on the YGG summit... so expecting/hoping on more content next week 😆
Thanks for your work.
Thanks.
You are amazing @beaker007 ... thank you for all you do and the work is as always, amazing!
Thanks @davemccoy, just trying to do my part to help out 😁
Collecting feedback is really important, and I hope more content creators share their experiences too.
Thanks for sharing! - @azircon
