Splinterlands - Questions About Rentals

After sitting on many dormant cards for literally years I have recently discovered more passive DEC can be gained by renting out my 'fodder' cards but I have a few unanswered questions that will get nice comment votes on from the @slobberchops account for good answers.

...'yes, I am quite slow on the uptake, but thanks @m3ss for the insight yesterday'...

Firstly, I was amazed that people want to rent out these, it speaks volumes for the game that I once criticized as 'stagnant' some years ago. If people want to rent my unused junk then wonderful.

It makes me think that I should stop playing and rent ALL my cards out. Less effort, more DEC. Who does not like passive income?

But I will keep this post short and get to the point.

These are the cards I have leased and earning me DEC while I sleep. My first question is when do they payout the rent? Is it all the the same time, when the lease expires or at a certain time of the day.

How can I see the payments, is there some kind of ledger?

Also do I need to do anything else besides monitor the current going price. Peakmonsters have made this all so easy so thank you guys for all you have done. You are making me and the other 'landlords' quite wealthy.

When the lease expires. . . . Oops! It's actually when the card is rented but . . . see comments below

You can see your payment history in "Balance History" in-game (The drop down when you click on the name of your account)

Not that I can think of off hand. You're using the check market rentals feature though right? To see which ones are "off" the most?

Do you mean 'Rental History', I don't see a Balance one.

This right?

Not "balance history". "rental history" IN-GAME. i.e. go to the Splinterlands site not Peak'd. 😁

Click on your name top right and then on the drop down.

Check Rental Market = correct.

Ah interesting, and yet confusing as it's in different places. It seems you actually get paid up front for the lease (minus the fee). I started renting around 9pm last night and I can see payments are added right away.

So what is to stop you from pulling a fast one and using 'Stop Renting' right after you get the booty?

The rental doesn't stop immediately, but after 24 hours. At that point, if you've stopped it but the renter paid for longer their "Money" will be returned to them.

OK, now what if the renter leased 7 days and you cancel after 1 day. I would have been paid for 1 day, so the lease is terminated and the only repercussions are you don't get the further 6 days rent?

In effect we can throw them out with just 24 hours notice?

Are you still playing or renting out all your cards?

Correct

Yes. And they can do the same. So rent for 7 days, see a better deal, cancel the lease and get 6 days back.

I'm playing a bit and renting out a lot of cards but managing them is taking too much time. I need to find a better system. I also have an account that has a ton of L1 reward cards in it. Hoping that when lands comes out I'll be able to rent them out as well.

I moved all of my rentals to the native game when they launched that feature, so I don't think I can answer your questions. I used to use PeakMonsters, but it got to be too complicated for me. The interface inside of Splinterlands is really smooth but probably not as powerful for those wanting advanced features.

I added a heap of rentals today, the big cards get snapped up right away and my DEC intake for all these cards lying around doing nothing has gone skyward. There is a lot more demand.

That is awesome! I never would have imagined my deck could be worth what it is right now.

Thanks for the kind mention and great article! So great to see good people flooding into this scene!

I am addicted to rentals now, thanks!

Hahahah, no problemo! I rent out a varity of cards each day and only rent on for myself by man, it's ket to many of my loadouts.

Within the past like 48hrs the rental price of one of my most expensive cards that I rent multiple copies of has doubled and I'm grinning.

Of course, I didn't play. Now, who's crying the blues?

I don't like to say it, but you have probably missed the boat. Wait for Chaos Legion if you want to jump in and they accept USD as payment.

Oh, I do know I missed the boat. I was just lamenting a bit about how I did. :)) It would be like trying to do bitcoin now. Glad I was early on that at least. I think jumping in, even at Chaos Legion is too late.

Thanks always!

Chaos Legion is an unknown, might be a good time to get in.

I will check it out , do you happen to have a link? Thanks again!
