Greetings Splinterlovers 💜

Happy start to the week to everyone in my favorite community, and to kick off this week, I just have to say: get ready to fall in love like I did, because today we're going to talk about "Shadowcomb Duskrose," a Common rarity card from the "Arcana Conclave" edition that uses a powerful combination of Death and Fire splinters, bringing with it a striking design and abilities that, despite being a common card, will most likely help you defeat your enemies on the battlefield.

On the other hand, this card surprised me a lot, because rather than a fighter, it's a statement of style: an elegant and powerful assassin whose presence dominates the field. I'm not really up to date with every time new cards come out, but, as I am currently the curator of the art contest, someone shared a design of her and I fell TOTALLY IN LOVE with her design. I love striking female cards, and this is definitely one of them, so in this post, I will teach you how to use her to stand out with style on the battlefield.

Just look at that card, Shadowcomb Duskrose is an Elf who radiates an elegant, gothic beauty and is undoubtedly quite "sexy." With her silver hair contrasting against the vibrant background of both elements, her crimson outfit, and that pose with her weapon—which I'm not sure if it's an axe or a scythe—she embodies what it means to be powerful and beautiful at the same time.

  • Style: She radiates a gothic and sensual elegance, reminding me of a character from the anime "Castlevania." Everyone should be familiar with this legendary anime series, or at least the games, so thank you, Splinterlands, for giving us this material, haha. Her dress is a beautiful design in dark purple and black that contrasts perfectly with her long, silver hair. In addition, the top is tight and revealing, with a deep V-neckline that I love, adding a sexy touch. The skirt has a voluminous, tiered design with crimson red and black ruffle details, giving it an air of dark royalty and movement. The red rose detail near her chest is the finishing touch of a dark diva.

  • Armament: Instead of a wand, she holds what looks like a giant axe, which I think is brutal. This establishes her personality: she is a front-line fighter, not just a pretty card who can't do anything. She is an elite warrior with glamour and elegance, but also with great strength.

  • Aura: Her pose with the axe raised high is pure confidence and power; she is the queen of battle. It's definitely a design that deserved to stand out. I've always liked female characters, I think I've said that a million times, haha, but this one could easily win all the awards.

Shadowcomb Duskrose is a unit focused on melee attack with a base shield of 0 at all levels. Its base speed is very low at only 1 point, but its attack grows impressively as it levels up, compensating for its weakness in defense and speed.

Detailed Statistics Progression (Level 1 to 10) 📊

StatisticsLevel 1Level 4Level 7Level 10 (Maximum)What It Means
Cost of Mana8888High cost, but its usefulness is enormous.
Physical Attack2346The damage scales brutally, reaching 6 at the maximum level.
Shield0000It doesn't have armor, so if we can combine it with an archon that provides a shield, that would be great.
Life6799High life and very resistant, especially at high levels.
Speed1111Very low speed is its weakness, but it has also become its superpower in certain rules.

The skills that make her dangerous are:

  1. Charge (Level 1): This is his most basic skill, but it gives him incredible power, allowing him to attack from virtually any position on the field and giving him great versatility.

  2. Rust (Level 4): This is where it becomes anti-tank. Rust is a negative effect for the opponent; enemy units lose 2 armor points. This ability is great because it allows Shadowcomb Duskrose to dismantle heavily armored enemies, especially since she has no shield at any level, so with the attack she has from any position, this comes in handy.

  3. Fury (Level 7): If Shadowcomb Duskrose's target has the Taunt ability, she deals double damage. This means that if opponents try to protect their units with a tank that draws all attacks, she punishes them severely, even having the potential to deal up to -12 damage points.

  4. Ambush (Level 10): With a maximum level 6 "Melee" attack and the ability to double that damage against tanks with Taunt, she is a brutal force that will attack an enemy card even before the game begins. With that beastly attack power, we can gain a significant advantage just by starting the game.

To maximize Shadowcomb Duskrose's lethal beauty, we must place her in environments where her abilities shine.

Best Rules

Reverse Speed: Without a doubt, THIS IS YOUR TOP RULE. Under this rule, units with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. With a speed of 1, Shadowcomb Duskrose will attack at the beginning of the round, before most units, making her an ultra-fast "ASSASSIN." Keep in mind that many cards at her maximum level have higher speed.

Up Close and Personal: Only "Melee" units are permitted. In this environment, their high attack stats are key, and their Rust ability will be invaluable in breaking through enemy defenses.

Armored Up: All units gain +2 armor. This rule turns their Rust ability into a priority asset, as it easily counteracts the enemy by destroying them, but in return we gain +2 shield points, which gives us greater defense.

Worst Rules

Back to Basics: Units lose all abilities. This completely eliminates their demolition attacks (Rust) and their ability to punish "Tanks" (Fury), leaving them as very basic "Melee" attack units.

Keep Your Distance: You cannot summon units with melee attacks. They simply cannot participate in battle.

Need for Speed: You can only summon units with 3 or more speed points, and since Shadowcomb Duskrose's base speed is consistently 1, this rule prevents her from participating. That's why it's always important to know when to use her and when not to.

In summary, when you see Reverse Speed, you know it's time to put Shadowcomb Duskrose on the battlefield and see how she attacks first. Even though her speed is +1, this will allow her to show her elegance and true strength where she will shine the most, defining how to turn a flaw into a premium feature.

Shadowcomb Duskrose is not just a card, it is a masterpiece (like many cards in Splinterlands). combining elegance with lethality and specializing in dismantling the opponent's defensive strategies thanks to her Rust ability and her punishment of provocateurs with Fury, not to mention her great attack power, which, although specialized in a specific rule, can actually do damage even in rules where speed does not favor her.

Without a doubt, Shadowcomb Duskrose is a card that has it all: a spectacular design that I love (thanks, art team, I love you guys haha), a progression of abilities that makes her a melee war machine, which makes her a spectacular unit for any Death-Fire deck. If you're looking for a card that's beautiful and has good abilities, you've just found your new favorite, and since she's a common card, she probably won't cost much, so don't hesitate to add her to your deck.

With nothing further to add, until next time, "Splinterlords."
