Splinterlands - A Sweet Victory Against Yodin Zaku in a Reverse Speed Battle

Hello Friends,

When it comes to Splinterlands, Yodin Zaku has a special place in the hearts of all the battlers because of it's versatile abilities it induces on to the the monsters it summons and when we win against Yodin Zaku, it's always praise worthy and will be remembered for a longer time.
Especially, in the reverse speed rule set, I have not lost much when I use Yodin Zaku, but, for a change, I thought of using the higher leveled Obsidian against my level 2 Yodin Zaku and it was a great win with Yodin Zaku's monsters not getting much chance.
Here I am presenting this battle with my level 7 Obsidian summoner with a lineup which could beat the fearsome monsters the Yodin Zaku had summoned.

Summoner:

The summoner I used is the new Chaos Legion edition Earth Splinter summoner of Obsidian which gives a +1 magic attack to all the monsters it summons and since it was a reverse speed rule set battle, I selected some of the lowest speed monsters available in the Earth Splinter with details as below:

Battle and Lineup:

As we see above, this was having 54 MANA cost as per the recent changes in the Splinterlands to increase the maximum MANA cap (other than 99 one) from 50 to 60 and this battle had 54 and the other rule set apart from reverse speed was the stampede rule set to give an opportunity of attacking multiple times by a monster having trample ability if it could remove the monster it attacks.
The lineup was as below:

Lineup:

1. Mycelic Infantry:

The reverse speed battle means this guy will always be there when I use an Earth Splinter and the reason for that besides his Single speed is the fact that, it has armors, has huge health, has shield ability and gives 4 melee attack besides having the new ability of giant killer which enables it to attack with double melee attack against monsters with 10 or more MANA cost.

2. Oaken Behemoth:

As I was expecting an Yodin Zaku led attack, I thought, this would be a good reach ability monster with even magic attack and huge health and it was of good use in reducing the blast attack to minimal.

3. Kron The Undying:

My usual monster whenever I use Earth splinter and it will be even more powerful in such reverse speed battles because of it's low speed of 2.

4. Goblin Psychic:

If it was a regular battle, I would have used a Spirit of the Forest, but the rule set of reverse speed made me to use this to utilize the low speed, affliction and silence abilities and believe me, it's 3 magic attack will be truly magical in such battles.

5. Doctor Blight:

Another low speed monster which could be a game changer and it was of great help in poisoning those ranged attack monsters.

6. Goblin Tower:

Lastly, I too used a blast ability monster in Goblin Tower and it's 4 attack was just so nice to give back the same taste of what the opponent's monsters were giving to me!!!!

Opponent had such high profile monsters, if it was a regular battle, I couldn't have chance of a win even with my stronger lineup.
Opponent's monsters were Living Lava, Molten Ash Golem, Lava Launcher, Cornealus, Cyclops and Ettin Spearman with a combined attack of 29 direct hit and half of that in blast hit!!!
And all I had was a combined attack of 22!!!!

Battle:

Round 1:

Like I said, Yodin Zaku is among the best bet for reverse speed battles with all low speed monsters from Fire Splinter, but, beating him using the all new Chaos Legion monsters in combination with other monsters from Earth Splinter is the new trend as for as I am concerned.
Here in this round, opponent's front monster Living Lava didn't have much answers to the magical monsters on my side and bowed out in round 1.

Round 2:

Both Molten Ash Golem and Lava Launcher didn't have a chance to attack in this round although both have the ability to attack from front and the blast took out the Oaken Behemoth along them.
The battle was still under my control as the monsters to follow for opponent were all ranged attack ones and couldn't attack from the front.

Round 3:

By the end of this round, opponent was reduced to just Single monster and being a ranged attack one, it can't attack from the front and that means, I was confirmed a victory here it self!!!

Round 4:

Without further sweating, I had the win as Ettin Spearman was removed by those magic monsters.

The win was sweeter but more than that, the win against Yodin Zaku in a reverse speed battle was more sweeter!!!
It's very hard to have a win against Yodin Zaku in regular speed battles for me as I have a level 2 summoner, but when it comes to reverse speed battles, I am proud to say that, I took down a level 3 and even level 4 Yodin Zaku summoned monsters which were far superior than what I had lined up and considering that point, it was a good win for me!!!
Thank you and I feel as always that, you enjoyed reading these blogs from me about Splinterlands battles and I will continue to do so in the future.
Have a great weekend and keep battling :)

Thanks and Have a good day :)
