Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is the Life Sapper card. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Featured Monster: Life Sapper
Life Sapper is a death splinter card that costs 3 mana. It starts with life leech and learns the redemption at level 8. The stats itself is fairly low and that is to be expected of a 3 mana cost card.
I don't use this card often because the stats are too low and life leech itself isn't enough to make it worthwhile. In the case of fighting against a void ability monster, it can't even break it to get health. The last ability of redemption doesn't even help me because my cards are not high enough level.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is rise of the commons and spreading fury. This means that all monsters get the enrage ability and I can only use common or rare cards. There is also 15 mana available and I am left with only the choice of death splinter.
The summoner I choose to use this time is Contessa L'ament. It's my highest level summoner and there isn't much I can do with only the death splinters available.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Contessa L'ament | 3 | Summoner | -1 Ranged attack |
Pelacor Deceiver | 5 | 1st | Tank with Flying |
Venari Bonesmith | 4 | 2nd | Life Leech and Poison |
Life Sapper | 3 | 3rd | Life Leech |
Total Mana: | 15 |
My plan is Pelacor Deceiver live long enough with the enrage ability (flying ability) while the rest of my line up just focuses on the front-line. I use Venari Bonesmith directly because I like the poison and life leech ability.
Round 1
At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have this match won so long as I am able to land poison on his void monster. It's still possible that I can lose if my Pelacor Deceiver doesn't live long enough.
Round 2
I managed to land the poison ability but it's not looking great for my backline. That snipe monster can get dangerous if I can't kill his tank fast enough but my chances are still quite high as I already dodged an attack.
Round 3
With the end of this round, my win is guranteed so long as I don't miss with my Pelacor Deceiver. There just isn't any way for him to win unless his tank hits my Pelacor Deceiver
As I thought, I won the match because I did not miss.
Conclusion
The battle this time around did not work how I expected it to. The void magic ability stopped my life leech monsters from healing it's health and I had to rely on poison plus my Pelacor Deceiver to deal most of the damage. The good thing is that poison happened during the 1st round so it helped me kill off his void magic tank faster.
The -1 armor from Contessa L'ament was not that great but it did allow me to place the highest level monsters that I could. Overall, I think my opponent had a strong lineup but I don't think it would have done well on anything besides a magic line up. There are a lot of different choices in death and the enrage rule set doesn't favor magic monsters.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
Pelacor Deceiver nice GF you have there won you the battle!
Yea it's a nice card and I managed to upgrade it from the cards I got in my rewards chest.
