Hey everyone, and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog! It's time to take part in the SECOND Splinterlands challenge for this weeks Community Engagement Challenge with a new theme again: Modifier Mastery!
Modifiers are what we used to call rule sets and they DO make every battle interesting, especially when you combine two or three of them.
I started my day with some ranked battles first because my energy was at 48/50, yesterday I stopped playing because it was a bad day for me in Splinterlands 😅 match liquidity was VERY low, I turned off liquidity bots because they have all the expensive cards I don't but then I ended up matched up against the same (stronger) player three matches out of four... easy wins for them! 😅

Today, it's better again but I did turn on liquidity bots again to test things out, but I still don't know what's better 😅 at least I got enough wins in for the first two reward chests containing the lucky draw entries.
I do find it odd that we get them in a chest, there can only be ONE thing in the chest so it seems not needed to click one extra time to reveal what's inside... 🙃

When I'm done with this post I'll grind my other five wins!

Modifier Mastery!

As I wrote above, this weeks challenge is to make a post about a certain modifier, and I do like one in particular so it's not difficult to choose the topic for this post as this is the first of it's kind, it's similar like the Battle Mage Secrets challenges we had in the past!
📝 Modifier Mastery — Show Us Your Smartest Play!
For this challenge, we want you to highlight one modifier that you’ve recently mastered, unlocked, or discovered >a clever strategy for.
In your post, share:
⭐ The modifier you’re focusing on
⚔️ Your go-to team or combo when this modifier appears
🧠 Why your strategy works (or how you figured it out!)
🎥 Optional: A battle link that showcases your tactic in action

Little League!
So, quite some time ago, I decided I really sucked when playing this specific rulese... uhm.. modifier 😄 so I invested in two must have specialists to dominate this one.
In Little League we can only use cards with four or less mana, Archons included! For me this means no Dragons at all because both Akane and Sheng Xiao are 5 mana but I do have all common Rebellion dual splinter Archons in my deck and they're great for this!
Whenever possible I like to combine Fire with Death because they have the best cards I think, but like with every team you make there's always a counter.

Inept Healer is the first specialist I've bought, the Corrupted Healer is awesome so support the entire team and it synergizes really well with my two debilitation (I hate that word as a not native English speaker) units I like to use a lot.
It's price is quite steep at just over $20 for a level 2 card though.

Taye Loreswift (I really like the name 😄) is the second one, she's also really good at neutral only battles together with Venka the Vile and Mantaroth by the way!
At level 2 she gives Inspire, +1 melee damage to the entire team.

Sharing a battle

The battle I saved to share is from earlier this week, it's a Little League battle in the Modern League with all splinters open except for the Water splinter, which is good for me because now the Shock Trooper can't kill my team with it's high damage.
Whenever Fire and Death are both available, this is my go to line up when the mana allows it, if not I can always cut or change my tank to Halfling Refugee for example, 3 less mana but also it's easier to kill vs. heavy damage teams.
First look at the battlefield:

O well it's not as bad as I thought, I could see max level Archons in the previously used teams but most of the monsters are not at max level, the taunt is at level 1 so without the Shield ability, I think I'm okay!
My Line-Up:
- Archon: Dolfar Darflak - reason: Combine Fire and Death splinters.
- First position: Death Ranger - reason: Better protection against magic teams, 11 hit points for 4 mana.
- Second position: Taye Loreswift - reason: +1 melee to my team.
- Third position: Inept Healer - reason: Corrupted Healing.
- Fourth position: Filthy Scavenger - reason: To hunt down enemy Inept Healer.
- Fifth position: Blazebeard Merc - reason: Good damage with Charge.
- Sixth position: Kha'Zi Conjurer - reason: High damage archer with piercing.
You can think the card placement is a little odd but I have a reason for this, when the Burning spreads to my Filthy Scavenger, my Inept Healer can still heal everyone, of course the drawback of this is the healer gets to the front faster when my tank is killed, choices choices!
The Battle:

Round 1: Taunt is killed fast, let's keep going!

Round 2: The Burning has already spread but my healer is doing it's work! let's hope it's not spreading more.

Round 3: My tank is doing an amazing job! It's almost over, will my entire team survive?

Round 4: Nope, the battle is taking too long and the Burning is taking it's toll on my team, hurry up!

Round 5: Well done team!

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

That's it, see you next week!
