Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

It's not even a month since we got the Jackpot cards in loot chests as part of the Dragon's Feast celebration. These Jackpot cards belong to the Extra set for Conclave Acana, and are non-soulbound cards right off the bat, so they can be transferred and traded directly to other players. But now, we've got another Extra card, though this time, it will be given as a consolation for players who participated in the Fortune draw and did not win any prize, easing the salt players felt when they see others winning cards. Now, let's welcome the new card into the mix, the neutral card Luckiest Longshot.

Luckiest Longshot was the newest card in Conclave Arcana, which is under the Extra Set. Unlike the reward cards, all of its versions were unbounded and can be traded, but they can only be burned for Glint, so they do not contribute to DEC inflation. For 7 mana, it got some decent stats in terms of speed and health. Then, when it comes to damage, it doesn't have much, but it can attack using both melee and magic, giving it a more flexible use case in battle. As for its abilities, it has Scattershot that randomizes the target of its attack, as well as Shatter that can remove the armor of the target and Stun that prevents the target from attacking in a turn. However, this card also comes with a new debilitation called Stray Shot wherein, whenever this unit attacks with a ranged attack, a random unit on its team takes 2 true damage.

Stray Shot: "Whenever this unit attacks with a ranged attack, a random unit on its team takes 2 true damage."
This means that regardless of the attack missing its target or not, a random ally target will take damage. This is quite similar to the effect of the Friendly Fire ruleset that I suggested within this post. Speaking of ruleset, I think that given the debilitation of this card, the most notable ruleset for this card will be the No Pain, No Gain ruleset.
No Pain, No Gain | All units have Painforge (+1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning, or hit by an ally). |

How to get Luckiest Longshot

To get a copy of Luckiest Longshot, first, you will need to have an active Fortune Pass by paying 125 DEC for each Fortune Draw.

After that, the draw took place, and you did not win a prize, you will receive a Lucky Coin, equivalent to the number of entries that were entered within that draw, and for every 500 entries, you will get 1 BCX copy of the card. These rewards are retroactive, so you may see cards granted from past draws the first time this feature triggers. At the end of the current ranked draws, the players with the most Lucky coins historically received will either be entered into a raffle for other foil variants of this card or receive a guaranteed card if in the top 3 of the leaderboard.

So now, even if a player did not win a card during the Fortune Draws, they will still be able to receive a card based on the number of entries they entered, which makes having more entries the better, regardless of the outcome. It's as if you are just paying 125 DEC every two weeks to get a few cards.

Closing
And that was the newest Extra card for Conclave Arcana. It was not a powerful card, but its goal was to give players with continuous bad luck some consolation prize. If you were in Discord, after every Fortune Draw, there would be players who are complaining about not winning cards, while some random players win multiple cards consecutively, but that is life in general. There will always be lucky and unfortunate ones; heck, even this main account of mine hasn't won a single card yet, so with this I no longer see any reason for anyone to complain, and people may now even compete on being the most unlucky.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
