Most players won't be affected by this change as to get below 50% you would need to play around 60-70 battles in a day

I don't think that's correct.

If ECR is 100 % that's true.
However, if one played it down to 50 % and waits 24 h, then the ECR recovers from 50 to 74 % until the next day. From 74 % there are far less games necessary to reach 50 %.

If you play 40 games (starting with 74 % ECR) then your new ECR is 74 * 0,9940 = 49,50 %. That means in average only 39 games per day are enough to reach 50 % ECR.

I personally still like that anyway as I cannot play 70 games per day manually.

Excactly, you get the point this 60-70 battles you can play only at the first day after you bought a new spellbook (or when you don't play long enough that your account reach 100% ECT)
I posted already myselfe about this:

https://hive.blog/splinterlands/@udow/splinterlands-does-the-splinterlands-team-understand-their-own-formulas

and in german:

https://hive.blog/deutsch/@udow/splinterlands-versteht-das-splinterlands-team-ihre-eigenen-formel

The point is that the average player is most likely not playing more than 30 battles a day, or they aren't going over the battle amount that regenerates in 24 hours.

With that being said, if you are a typical player, you are probably no where near 50% ECR so this shouldn't affect you. If it does, it should make you reconsider your battle strategy as dropping your ECR that low makes earning Reward Shares very inefficient.

Well, I just stated that the maths is not correct or at least misleading (because "60-70 battles in a day" won't be possible while staying above 50 % ECR). That's nothing dramatic, but I wanted to point it out.

I personally don't care so much anyway about optimizing my ranked rewards and ECR. I focus on tournaments and simply have no time to play more than 30 games per day (just sometimes if my wife plays, too, with my account, that might happen).
So if at all the new ECR formula is beneficial for me.

This is not the point.

The point is that the splinterlands-team should publish correct information. And what they told with 60-70 battles a day is NOT correct or you have any doubt ?

I can show you what is the maximum amount of battles you can play in a day:

If you start at ECR 50% and play one battle you are at 49.5% and should wait till ECR reach again 50%, this takes 30 minutes, so you can play a maximum of two battles in one hour or a maximum of 48 battles a day.
For a human player this 48 battles is only theoretical cause he would need to play all arround the clock every 30 minutes, so when you play once a day you can only play approximately 40 battles.

Why the splinterlands-team do no correction ?
Why they don't tell that their calculation was not correct ?

The text reads that you would need to play 60-70 battles in a day to reach 50% ECR (with the obvious assumption that you start at 100%). There is no text stating that this is supposed to be 60-70 battles every day as that is pretty obvious that would take you way below 50% for the whole season.

Again, the point is that most players aren't even close to 50% ECR in general so this change shouldn't affect them. What is being discussed here is completely irrelevant to what the team was actually trying to address.

Please read carefully the full text:

"Most players won't be affected by this change as to get below 50% you would need to play around 60-70 battles in a day"

Where stand that you start by 100% ? I cannot found this.
If you play 60-70 battles a day you will be affected latest at the second day.

I think really that nobody understand this sentence in this way you (want) understand him.
Why you cannot just say: "Ok this was not correct - we will publish a correction / clarification" ?

``Modifying reward share calculation to take in affect the level of cards used per league
If you use lower leveled cards compared to the max level for your league, then you may not earn as much as someone with maxed cards
This will affect mainly those who play with lvl 1 cards in Silver/Gold´´

what kind of crap is this, now players with skill are punished?

Modification will most likely be a boost for those using appropriate leveled cards depending on the league they are in. I'd imagine similar to the Gold Foil and Alpha/Beta/Promo boosts.

So you won't be punished if using lower levels, you will just be incentivized to use higher leveled cards. This ultimately should make each league more competitive, and will increase the card scarcity overall if more people are burning cards.

Is this the first time you realize that SPL is a pay2win game?

skill punish would be worse than pay2win ;)

this is getting out of hand, all these draw backs and catches being added to every aspect of the game is only making it a worse experience for all of the real players instead of doing something to directly adress the problems at hand. there are many other games out there that had systems in place from the start to prevent the problems like this game is having and they did that so they didnt have to go back and waste a ton of time and money trying to come up with fixes that dont really work and only upset a lot of players instead. its sad because this could be a really great game and it almost is but its getting to the point that its just to far from enjoyable anymore. as any gamer with half a brain will say if your not enjoying it then stop playing and im sure lots will, i know im getting close myself. as for the bots, a little reprograming and the will be right back at it. its not like the bots have emotions and care about these changes. at some point players will be able to vote for or against any new changes but it wont matter because the people running these bot farms will have way more voting power then the actual player base so they will get what they want anyway. ill stick it out a little longer in hopes that it will get better but if not then ill just join the croud and set my account up with a rental bot and use the extra time and money to go play something that is enjoyable.

Be extremely careful with how you implement this. It is looking like a punishing players for having better skill. If it is only applied for using Level 1 Cards at higher leagues, it might be tolerated.Getting the short end of the stick for the beating a massively powerful team with a weaker is not something I want to see. It is fun to have the underdog deck and still come out on top.

PS: I am playing in Gold/Diamond Leagues. The feedback is based on my experience at those leagues. I would suggest to at least wait for an SPS Governance Vote to settle something like this.

I relied on my skill at maximizing card level myself because of limited funds.

thanks again . keep up the great work 😃

Nice post, but still nothing about focus reset timer.. 😔

I think that the changes they are making go against the player's experience, especially with players from lower leagues.

Firstly, the two-day rental will bring losses, because the investment is not recovered with the profits, and secondly, reducing the rewards of those who do not use the cards to the maximum level that a league allows is something that becomes a critical point, because it leads us to the first point, a lot of investment and minimal or no profit.

This is something that is already being seen in bronze and silver and these changes have not yet been implemented.

Hello, I will only give my opinion.

I know that looking to level up cards is good, I would implement this for lands, but not for battles, people with skills should be able to have this little advantage. Also, renting higher level cards will always be more expensive.

Yes, I love that there are merits now in the chests.

I do not like the idea that DEC is replaced by SPS, in any case, I would like both to stay and be distributed, example probabilities:

20% DEC
20% SPS
20% CARDS
20% Potions
20% Merits

Maybe you can explain this point further cause I don't understand how you come to this result:

"Gladiators/Merits:
Even if you aren't in a Guild or don't participate in Brawls, Gladiators are still important
They provide free Collection Power
They can also be burned for DEC
There will be more utility for Gladiators beyond Guild Brawls (like Land workers)
As a reminder, merits are going to be added to chest rewards soon"

If I am not in a guild how I can burn Gladiator cards for merrits or more exactly How I can get gladiator-cards at all ?
As far as I know you cannot buy gladiator-cards if you aren't in a guild and if our guild has not at least a guild store of level 2.
So my understanding is that if you are not member of a guild who own a store of level 2 (or more) you can do competely nothing with your merrits - so explain how I can use them in this case ?
Thank you !
