My top 5 Splinterlands Cards

in Splinterlands3 years ago (edited)

In june 9th 2019 I made a post My top 5 Steemmonsters cards

Back then my top 5 "steemmonsters" cards list looked like this
5: Sea Monster
4: Magi Sphinx
3: Serpent of the Flame
2: Haunted Spirit
1: Kobold Miner

Keep in mind that I make the list based on what cards I own myself (that includes their levels)
And by my top cards I actually mean my favourite cards, so my usage % isn't the most important thing here.

I decided to see how much my choice in cards has changed until then.
So here I present . . .

My top 5 Splinterlands cards

Fifth place

KOBOLD MINER

This was previously my Nr1. favourite card to use because of his super low mana cost.
It's still an amazing card, that's why he made it into my top 5.

Fourth place

LORD ARIANTHUS

image.png
I still need to get him to level 3, but even at level 2 it's such a handy card to have.
5 mana cost ain't much for this beast of a tank.

Third place

SPIRIT OF THE FOREST

Pretty much any higher mana cap game where I use the Earth splinter, I end up using this magnificent card.
It provides shields and healing, which is the main thing I like her for.
The Flying and Sniper are just bonuses alongside her insane speed.

Second place

GELATINIOUS CUBE

Honestly this card is insane. I love how this card can't fight back, but it can still win 1 v 3 battles by just surviving.
If any of you still doesn't know, if by the 20th round there are still monsters alive, a fatigue system will kick in which starts damaging monsters more and more.
Since this beast of an card can just survive the blows from enemies and the fatigue by healing himself, it could in theory outlast a full team.

First place

SCREECHING VULTURE

It was really though to choose my top 1 favorite card, and I am not even sure if I made the right decision, but so be it.
I really love the Opportunity ability in the game (This ability is almost like sneak, but instead of attacking the furthest enemy, it attack the lowest HP enemy) Also Scavenger combined with Opportunity usually gets quite a few extra HP on this card.
If you use the Brownie with this card, you are very likely going to get the first blood on your enemy.

Bonus card

ARCHMAGE ARIUS

I absolutely love this summoner
I use him pretty much everytime I get a chance to use him.
I am very fortunate to own a copy of this card, and I am using this card to the fullest :)

Yes! Screeching Vulture is one of the most underrated cards.
I have a very high win rate with that card

my lord arianthus at level 3 is decent (he gets thorns - which makes him do damage bakc to attackers as well)

and i do like my vulture as well

Arianthuses are so expensive now, wish I bought them more at under 2$ when I had the chance.
But unfortunately at that moment I thought it's a pretty bad card (stupid me lol :D)

i've been playing splinterlands since almost day 2 LOL

i was lucky enough to win enough arianthus in daily rewards to upgrade him to level 3 (wow - that's a $35 card now) - i guess that's OK ROI for the $20 invested in the beginning

I have been with Splinterlands Since like day 1 or 2 aswell :D

I got at least 5 Arianthuses aswell just from playing, but I, thinking that it's a bad card, sold them all at the time.
(I thought that, What a dumb card, it has no attacks. Boy was I wrong)

I bought a lvl 2 Arianthus back at 5$ BCX.
