Namaste to all warriors of Splinterlands!

In this week's 🌟Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge🌟, we're all going to talk about modifier mastery. Modifiers are rulesets that play a crucial role in every battle, and card selection is mostly based on them, so this is a great topic where player blogs can teach us a lot. So I hope you enjoy it. 🔥

As I said, modifiers play a crucial role in shaping a battle because most of the time, everything from your card selection to your strategy and positioning of those cards depends on the rules of the ruleset (modifiers), so this is a topic you cannot take lightly. I've fought many battles in my Splinterlands journey across almost all rulesets with various card combinations and tried to get the best out of them with the different available cards in my deck. While it might be a bit much to call it mastery, there are several rulesets that I perform quite well with, and my win ratio improves, and one of them is 'What Doesn't Kill You'.

By the way, if you want to study various rulesets, then from the battle page, go to How to Play and scroll down a bit, you will find a link named Combat Rules in the PREPARING FOR BATTLE section.

All units under this ruleset have the Enrage ability, which means that all melee attack cards will have +50% melee attack power and speed if they are not at full health, rounded up. Although this attack multiplier only works on melee attackers, it does not necessarily consider +50% of your card's base attack power, meaning if you strengthen your melee attack cards with the Inspire ability or any other power of your Archon, this modifier will still calculate +50% of your card's total attack power at the start of the battle.

So, under this ruleset, the best choice is to choose melee attackers, but the enemy can use Thorns against them. To counter this, I ensure that my melee attackers are capable of dealing 3 to 4 times the damage of Thorns. This means that even if the enemy returns damage to you with Thorns, the impact of your attack is enough to challenge their ability to withstand it, so in the end, your damage pales in comparison to the enemy's damage. To completely avoid Thorns, you can also use the Deflect ability, which provides 100% protection to your melee attackers from Thorns. Also, make sure your cards are healthy enough, as health is a major stat, and without it, you won't be able to stay on the battlefield for long.

For example, in this battle, my focus was more on the melee cards than on the enemy. Although the mana cap made it impossible to add cards of my choice, I still included some excellent melee attackers in the team. The idea was to increase their power by one and a half times. In this particular battle, I used Arachne to provide +2 melee to two of my melee attackers, and then applied a +50% modifier multiplier. The impact of just one attack was enough to knock out the enemy. And this is how the battle unfolded. To further improve this and make it everlasting, a healer can also be added to the team, only if you have enough mana and if you use the trample ability or bloodlust. You can imagine how massive the impact of these attacks will be.

Above, you're seeing the impact of one of my melee attack cards. This card's initial attack power was 3 melee, which I increased by +2 to 5 with the help of Arachne. These were the stats before the battle began. Now, as soon as the card was attacked after the battle began, 50% of its current attack power was added to it, making it a card with a lethal 8 melee attack power. There wasn't a card with the Bloodlust ability in this battle, but if there had been, the card's attack power and all other stats would have increased by +1 after each killing blow. And if it had the Trample ability, its impact would have prevented the enemy from remaining on the battlefield for perhaps two rounds.🔥

This is a journey of constantly adding better cards and adapting new strategies, climbing the ranks, and enjoying the game, because Splinterlands is no easy place, and that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. Powers working in perfect synergy are what make a strategy successful, so add good cards to your deck, but also work on developing a better understanding of the rulesets and other in-game mechanics, and strive to win as many battles as possible. 🔥
