It's hard to believe but its been several week, and many a SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE since I last took part in this great, weekly challenge set by the fantastic curation team over at @splinterlands.

This week the bodacious and brilliant @carrieallen has asked us to share a battle we've taken part in, where the PHANTASM monster, from the DEATH splinter has been used.

This monster is "new" to me, and I think I can count on one hand how many times I've actually used it in battle. Which is a shame to be honest, cause by looking at its stats it could be a very useful melee monster in your arsenal.

Now, as I said, I don't use this monster, so currently it remains at LVL 1. I was so desperate to get in on this week's SYBC that I didn't care if may have cost me the battle, I just wanted to start participating again, and as @carrieallen can testify, I usually always leave it to the last minute to submit my entry.

The battle rules for today were quite simple: SUPER SNEAK and LOST MAGIC and you can watch this battle by clicking below:

I chose the death splinter because of the -1 Melee buff given by the summoner Zintar Mortalis, then it was just a case of trying to build a team for the MANA and battle rules.

My go to tank is the haunted spirit, it offers good health, the heal ability and a surprisingly good Melee attack, all for just 5 MANA.

My PHANTASM slotted in to second spot, and thanks to the battle rule SUPER SNEAK, I knew the phantasm speed would be of great help.

Throw in a GF furious chicken, simply because its free and a 10% GF always goes down a treat.

And end the lineup with my spineback wolf. With a shield and thorns, it should hold up my tail while my other monsters go to work.....

I managed to pick up the win, even though my team was far from being particularly strong. After I saw my opponents cards revieled, I honestly thought I had lost this battle. That Exploding Dwarf can be a game changer, but luckily my thorns ability took him out straight away, and I scraped through to fight on.

I've just realised that I have enough cards to level up my phantom, and that's exactly what I plan to do. 30 combined cards equals a much stronger playing card, and a monster I think I will start to use more often as a "tank" when the battle rules include no healand my haunted spirit can't heal itself.

What would you do differently? Please leave your hints/tips and opinions below, I find them all very useful in help g my understand and improving my skills.
