Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive. Espero que todos estén bien y disfrutando de todo el variado contenido de esta gran comunidad. Hoy quiero hablarles sobre una hermosa actividad que es del gusto de muchas personas: tejer.
Hello my dear friends of Hive. I hope you are all well and enjoying all the varied content of this great community. Today I want to talk to you about a beautiful activity that many people like: knitting.
De pequeña cuando papá supo que me gustaba tejer me regaló una pequeña aguja para tal fin. Yo me sentía contentísima con ese regalo, en realidad no me lo esperaba. Fue una gran sorpresa. Desde ese momento casi todos los fines de semana y luego de hacer otras labores me ponía a tejer. Primero hacía un tejido bastante sencillo estilo crineja. Para quienes tienen esa habilidad saben que se realiza con una sola puntada. Luego seguí aprendiendo hasta que logré tejer pañitos pequeños en forma de círculo. Como no tenía dinero para comprar el hilo especial, tejía con pabilo (ese que se utiliza para amarrar las hallacas). Pero yo contenta porque para nosotros era una novedad. En casa solo sabíamos de tareas escolares y de quehaceres del hogar. Así que el hecho de realizar una actividad totalmente diferente era motivo de alegría. Esa alegría inocente e infantil propia de la niñez.
When I was a little girl and my dad knew I liked knitting, he gave me a small needle for that purpose. I was very happy with that gift, I really didn't expect it. It was a great surprise. From that moment on, almost every weekend and after doing other chores, I started knitting. First I knitted a very simple crineja style. For those who have that skill, they know that it is done with only one stitch. Then I continued to learn until I was able to knit small circle stitches. As I didn't have the money to buy the special thread, I wove with wick (the one used to tie the hallacas). But I was happy because for us it was a novelty. At home we only knew about schoolwork and household chores. So the fact of doing a totally different activity was a source of joy. That innocent and childlike joy of childhood.
Con el paso del tiempo otras actividades llamaron más mi atención, como por ejemplo el deporte, y sin darme cuenta ya no tejía con tanta frecuencia, aún así, conservaba la aguja con mucho amor porque era un regalo de mi papá. Pero eso no hizo que perdiera mi admiración por los tejidos. De hecho llegué a conocer a tres señoras muy cariñosas y amables y llegamos a querernos mucho. Ellas tejían bellísimo. Yo las observaba embelesada cuando hacían sus creaciones. Eran tan habilidosas que tejían a dos agujas. Me impresionaba cómo esas manitos arrugadas se movían con tanta precisión y delicadeza. Una de ellas era bisabuela de mis hijos y cuando yo me casé con su nieto ella me regaló un cubrecama matrimonial rosado elaborado con hermoso hilo y finos flequillos. Ese gesto me conmovió profundamente porque sé que lo hizo con mucha dedicación y cariño. Sencillamente era una pieza exclusiva, única. De hecho, nunca he visto otra igual.
As time went by, other activities caught my attention, such as sports, and without realizing it, I no longer knitted as often, even so, I kept the needle with much love because it was a gift from my dad. But that didn't make me lose my admiration for knitting. In fact, I got to know three very loving and kind ladies and we grew to love each other very much. They wove beautifully. I watched them spellbound as they made their creations. They were so skilled that they knitted with two needles. I was impressed by how those little wrinkled hands moved with such precision and delicacy. One of them was my children's great-grandmother and when I married her grandson she gave me a pink matrimonial bedspread made with beautiful thread and fine bangs. That gesture touched me deeply because I know she made it with a lot of dedication and love. It was simply an exclusive, unique piece. In fact, I have never seen another one like it.
La otra personita era muy querida por mí porque compartíamos una valiosa actividad que nos unió siempre con amor. Ella tuvo el bello detalle de obsequiarme un portarrollos en color verde estilo sombrerito con una cinta alrededor. Lindo, lindo. Recuerdo con mucho cariño ese momento. Ella deseaba enseñarme a tejer modelos más elaborados pero lamentablemente comenzó a enfermarse y tiempo después sus familiares se vieron en la necesidad de llevarla al extranjero. A pesar de mis esfuerzos, no supe más de ella. Solo espero que mi bella amiga esté recuperada.
The other little person was very dear to me because we shared a valuable activity that always united us with love. She had the beautiful detail of giving me a green hat-style roll holder with a ribbon around it. Cute, cute. I remember that moment with great affection. She wanted to teach me to weave more elaborate models but unfortunately she began to get sick and some time later her relatives had to take her abroad. Despite my best efforts, I never heard from her again. I only hope that my beautiful friend is recovered.
La otra personita muy especial era alguien a quien me apegué muchísimo, y ella a mí. Por eso me causó un profundo dolor su reciente fallecimiento. Con mucho amor y sacrificio ella elaboró para mí dos pañitos para adornar la sala de mi casa. Uno es grande y el otro es pequeño. Los valoro muchísimo porque sé que hizo un gran esfuerzo ya que era una persona de escasos recursos, pero no permitió que eso la disuadiera de hacerlos. Recuerdo que le decía a sus nietos que le consiguieran del nylon que ellos utilizaban para los papagayos. Me hacía mucha gracia ¡Ella era tan optimista!. Amo a mi amiga.
The other very special little person was someone to whom I became very attached, and she to me. That is why I was deeply saddened by her recent passing. With much love and sacrifice she made for me two little cloths to decorate my living room. One is large and the other is small. I value them very much because I know she made a great effort since she was a person of limited resources, but she did not let that deter her from making them. I remember her telling her grandchildren to get her the nylon they used for the parrots. It was so funny to me. She was such an optimist. I love my friend.
Éstos hermosos y valiosos obsequios los atesoro con gran celo. Para mí representan mucho más que hilo y aguja. Han sido una muestra de inmenso cariño por parte de quienes utilizaron sus habilidades creativas para hacerme sentir querida y consentida de una manera hermosa. Gracias por eso mis bellas amigas. Por cierto, les cuento que el cubrecamas tiene aproximadamente 38 años y aunque me he esmerado por conservarlo bien obviamente el tiempo ha hecho su parte. El portarrollos tiene aproximadamente 15 años y está como nuevo. Y los pañitos aproximadamente 6 años. Se han conservado bastante bien. Realmente los amo por todo lo que representan en mi vida.
I treasure these beautiful and valuable gifts with great zeal. To me they represent so much more than thread and needle. They have been a token of immense affection from those who used their creative skills to make me feel loved and pampered in a beautiful way. Thank you for that my beautiful friends. By the way, the bedspread is about 38 years old and although I have taken great care to preserve it well, time has obviously done its part. The roll holder is about 15 years old and is as good as new. And the washcloths are approximately 6 years old. They have been preserved quite well. I really love them for all they represent in my life.
También tengo una pieza tejida que compré para una boda, es un accesorio que se utiliza en el cuello, es negro con plateado, muy elegante. Después de todo, fue muy poco lo que tejí con mi pequeña aguja, pero la vida se encargó de hacerme ver todo lo hermoso que es este oficio y la gran dedicación que demuestran quienes lo ejercen con suma delicadeza. A todas esas personas las felicito desde mi corazón ❤️
I also have a woven piece that I bought for a wedding a wedding, it's an accessory worn around the neck, it's black with silver, very elegant. After all, I knitted very little with my little needle, but life made me see how beautiful this craft is and the great dedication shown by those who practice it with great delicacy. To all those people I congratulate them from my heart ❤️

Que gran talento tienes, no se tejer pero si me gusta siempre ví a personas de mi familia tejer y decía que hábil y cuánta paciencia tienen, por eso valoro mucho el trabajo de los artesanos. Está precioso todo lo que haces, te felicito 👏👏👏
