This post is a continuation of exploring the geographic distribution of active users on Hive. As usual with these posts, please remember that this only counts those who have assigned location data for their profile, which is a small subset overall.
Nigeria alongside Venezuela can be said to be one of the epicenters of activity on the Hive network. That's particularly true for the city of Lagos, which alone has 72 active Hive users in the last month. We have more users in Lagos than many countries, such as China, Japan and France.

Word of mouth seems to be an important factor in growing the community. Looks like Nigeria is seeing good growth. At some point it could just take off. It's going to get interesting when millions try to use Hive. I know there are issues with onboarding large numbers.

This data probably is a good indicator for country acctivities on Hive, but there is is a big chunk of data that is missing for those who do not set location.
Cant really tell, but the accuracy here is probably something like 50-50. The smaller the size of users of some country/city the biggest the distortion can be.
Yes, that is true. I am focussing on the larger cohorts particularly. Unless there's a particular reason why some groups are particularly inclined to set their location or not (eg. probably unlikely for Chinese), it should be fine for general trends.
