Local Coin Shop Finds 5-26-2022

Asahi Holding bought out Johnson Matthey Gold and Silver Refineries, in 2015. Today, Japan's Asahi produces some fine Silver products, but still has a ways to go to match, the old vintage Silver art bars & Silver rounds. One can still find them at a Local Coin Shop, or Coin Show.IMG_6717.jpg

Looks like the Parents let the kids play with these Silver Coins & Rounds.

This Right to Vote, Johnson Matthey Silver Round, the 24th Amendment, to the United States of America Constitution, came out in, Johnson Matthey Freedom Series, in the early eighties. JM produced ten different, Acts of Freedom, Silver 99.9% pure Silver one-Troy ounce rounds.

A Local Coin Shop is at good place to find Silver, at a reasonable price. Along with the JM Freedom Round, I picked up a couple of, mishandled, 1992 Canadian Silver, Maple Leafs. All three, $28, each.

Those are nice pick ups.👍

Thanks again for checking it out, @silverd510.

I didn't know that Asahi Holding bought JM. Right to Vote is quite a coin, beside it's well designed and great name. I like coins that have meaningful words to it !

Thanks again for checking it out, @olympicdragon. Johnson Matthey had a lot to do with inventing or developing the catalytic converter.

I would grab those in a heart bit it's still silver

Thanks for looking, Blockman - @bitcoinman. Yeah, the 1992 Maple, is a tuff date, I passed on a '93, that was a little too beat up. And I like Johnson Matthey.

$28 is ok, I guess. The Comex price is about $21.50 today. The condition doesn't matter, those are not collector coins. As long as it is 1 ounce its fine.
To the silver rounds I can't say much, we don't really do them here. It would add 19% VAT if it is a non currency silver piece. Also, I can imagine it would be harder to sell, since people have more trust in officially minted coins.

Thanks for looking & commenting, Beatminister - @beatminister. Yes, premium got me again. The 1992, is mishandled, but a tuff date, for the collector. Low mintage. The Johnson Matthey is retired. Had to have 'em.

Very nice pick ups, especially the JMs. 👍
