Twenty-three years ago, the US Mint, was selling these Modern Commemorative US Silver(90%) Dollars, for around, $35(USD), plus shipping/handling, each. Today, they were under, $24, each. Free shipping. eBay.
The Local Coin Shop has some, for around the same price. The point is that they are available, on the secondary market, for less than their original, Mint prices.
Since 1982, the US Mint has struck, maybe, fifty different Silver Dollars. And, they also went to .999 pure Silver. The last Modern Commemorative Silver Dollar was over $60, delivered.
The final mintage numbers steadily went down through the years, as the interest, in them, waned. American Silver Eagles are minted, by the millions, whereas some, of these, MCSDs, were minted, as low as, under, 16,000 (rare). Even the rarest, can be picked up at a reasonable price, by the persistent collector/stacker.
It sometimes, looks like the Mint, spent more time designing the box or boxes, than the coin.
I am always in the market, to pick up these Silver Dollars, when they are at spot, melt value prices. They make great, inexpensive gifts, for any occasion. And can be regifted, as emergency, last minute gifts. One stop shoping.

Those are beautiful I got a similar type thing but the Canadian version and it's just one coin for now out of the set, technically I got 2 coin s from the set but it's the same design coin 😂 (Montreal Olympics 1976)
That's what my strategy is with past issued RCM silver commemorative coins. Premiums at first issue are quite high and is often worth waiting for if I can wait 3 to 5 years for a much better price in the secondary market. Many of my Ship coins I acquired with that strategy.
Greeks have always known for their long history with the Olympics. Creative in drawing and various sports, I like track games.
The most important thing is to have free shipping. The Olympic torch symbol is very cool, I am fond of sports and its historical symbols.
