Western, or European dragons are depicted as large reptiles that often possess bat-like wings. Dragons from the east are more snake-like and generally do not have wings as compared to the European variety.

In Eastern mythology specifically the Chinese, dragons are symbols of good luck and good fortune. To determine the dragon's power and knowledge, all you had to do is find out the number of fingers on their claws. The greatest of all dragons have five claws!
All of the Perth Mint dragons are Eastern dragons. They are long, elongated, snake-like figures that and do not have wings. "... the body of a snake, mane of a lion, antlers of a deer, tale of a fish, ears of a cow, belly of a clam, scales of a carp, paws of a tiger, and claws of a hawk. These physical traits grant the dragon behavioral characteristics such as bravery, fierceness, loyalty, and elegance, mirroring the animals they resemble." Source

It really depends on what it is. I can spend anywhere from 10 minutes, if my mind and pictures are organized ahead of time, or upwards of 30+ minutes. I try to get myself organized so it's not quite so laborious, lol! Take care sis!

Dragons will always have a great theme appeal and the Perth Mint usually does a fine rendition with their typical top end quality into their product. It's no wonder these sell well when they come into the market.
Dragons will also remind me of @slacker-stacker and his fondness for dragons.

You'd think Australia has enough exotic wildlife to put on coins, and refrain from the mythical, but why not
Oh yeah, they cover it all, plus the dragons. Initially, it was just part of the Lunar Series. But since 2018, they ate churning out all sorts of dragon series that they can think of, even making a rectangular coin.
