With 11 million job openings in the U.S., the most ever, how desperate will organizations be to hire personnel? I am concerned that cybersecurity risks of insiders will increase if processes for proper vetting and background checks become lax for new-hires.
I suggest my fellow Chief Information Security Officers (CISO’s) have a discussion with the head of their Human Resources to understand if the cyber risks are going to increase in the organization due to more 'flexible' hiring practices.
With so many unfilled jobs, something has to give. Higher wages or a low bar.
Guess companies better make sure they need to have a good separation of duties and accounts for various elevated privileges. Just saying. Nothing new.
