TESTING WATER PURIFUCATION METHODS

The Membrane Solutions "Squeeze Water System!"

Recently, Membrane Solutions reached out to us to test some of their products. The first one we are trying is the "Squeeze Water System." Personally, I am really impressed. Having used "LifeStraw" type filters before, I can see a number of advantages to this system.

For one, the bags allow you to transport water away from the source, rather than only being able to hydrate when you encounter a water supply. Moreover, the bags also can help you measure your intake, which can be beneficial in avoiding dehydration. The last thing that immediately stuck out to me was how squeezing the bag aided in moving the water through the filtration system, which reduces the amount of suction required. Sometimes, sucking so hard on other "straw filter" versions can lead to headaches. We'll continue testing and eventually put out a video of our conclusions, but so far, I like what we see from Membrane Solutions.

I've used the Lifestraws as a gravity purifier. They fit inside the mouth of a gallon water bottle and with a hole in the bottom of the bottle the water gradually filters down.

I use the Saywer Mini, same principle, works great. The only thing I do is add some chlorine tablets to kill any virus.
