The rifle is a Savage (U.S. made), but you're right on target with the ammo and the final round being developed in Finland by SAKO, Accuracy International, and Finnish Lapua. They are the ones really responsible for it's completion and popularity. Until the .50 BMG's came onto the scene, the .338 Lapua held most of the long distance sniper world records 2009 up thru 2012/2017. But those .50 BMG's are just punishing to shoot imho. I just don't like them. Great if you want to take out a truck, but for all breathing purposes, the Lapua is still champ imho.
Btw, my other favorite rifle in .22-250 caliber is a Finnish SAKO.
