Ahoy, matey!
Overheating is a common cause of computer failure. This is why there are systems in place such as liquid cooling, and other sorts of ways to keep that processor at an optimal temperature. This is also why we yawn.
Oh, sorry... we weren't talking about the computer you are looking at right now, no, but the computer that is doing the looking and that exists inside your skull.
Yawning. In contrast to the popular belief that it increases airflow to the brain, it in fact is a method that your body employs to keep your brain from overheating.
In a study that used mice in jars, found that these unwilling subjects outstretched their jaws in an effort to cool down, this increase the blood flow to the brain, true, but the extra air intake while yawning in combination of the blood flow to the brain, eventually did cool that thinking machine down.
