I have some questions about this hard fork. Will Hive split into two blockchains the way Steemit did? If so, will there be another community that runs on the separate blockchain? What will the name of the new community/blockchain be if that is the case?

That only happens when there's contention. Blocktrades' proposed changes are for the benefit of the blockchain so I doubt that there'll be any of that.
