How to Become a Mod

If you are a known and respected dev I will probably end up modding you on HiveDevs without you even asking. I watch the logs of the community so I can see what is being muted and how users are being tagged. If someone is found to be abusing their mod privileges they will be taken away; simple.

This isn't rocket science. If someone posts content not related to HiveDevs in the HiveDevs community, just mute the post with a short reason for why. If you want to leave a comment for the user so they can do better next time, feel free to do that as well.

If there are bot accounts spamming or highly abusive users, you can mute them at your own discretion. Again, do leave an informative, short tag on the muted user. (spammer, phishing, death threats, abusive, etc)

Keep Posting and Modding

Don't forget, we have quite a lot of eyes with a lot of stake watching the HiveDevs community for curation. Many large users enjoy supporting the developers working behind the scenes so let's make it easier for them to find quality content to support.

It is up to us all to maintain a relevant and on-topic developer community here on Hive.

Note: As of right now, HiveDevs moderators are doing so as UNPAID VOLUNTEERS. Eventually I will setup some type of compensation for active and effective moderators. Get your practice in now!

Does "HiveDevs" community only support development related to Hive blockchain?

That will definitely be the primary article you see on here, but HiveDevs is just a collection of community developers on the Hive blockchain.

Anything that is related to development and is useful will stay up. Only things that are clearly off-topic or just random promotional shit or spam get muted. You can always check the muted list to see what kind of crap it has.

Are mods voted by the block witness

Nah mods in HiveDevs are just community developers that are respected and trusted to mute off-topic posts or spam and not to abuse the mod.

The HiveDevs community is meant to be a place for developers to share their posts related to their projects or development questions/guides. The mods are trusted to understand what is on-topic and what isn't and to address it as they see fit.

okay thank you for the explanation. you open my eyes to what is confusing me
