Have you ever felt that life is unfair? This is a feeling I bet everyone has felt even once, when you fight hard too to get something and in return, everything falls apart, leaving you with a feeling of sadness and hate, this is something that Kratos from the God of War series has experienced at first hand in too many ocasions through his life leading him to follow the cycle of hate and revenge that never ends, this is the story of Kratos in God of War, a spartan warrior that fights agains´t the injustice of the Gods of the Olympus.
It all begins in the first God of War, Kratos is about to commit suicide jumping from a cliff and we see how he descends, we don´t know why he do this at first until we finish the game. Kratos himself is not a saint, he had done many things he´s not proud about and in order to see the light of redemption, he is guided by the Gods to stop Ares (God of War) from his misdeeds, Kratos was betrayed by Ares so he doesn´t think twice in finally getting revenge, with this, Kratos finally will get the forgiveness of the Gods.
In God of War, Kratos will have to open his way through many monsters and beasts from the greek mythology, it´s a hack and slash game so our duty will be raze all the enemies on the screen, our main weapon will be the Blades of Chaos which will help us to do the maximum quantity of combos to our enemies, being the Square button to light hits that will allow us to increase the combo, and Triangle to do heavier attacks with the Blades of Chaos, we can attack as we jump as well, making combos in the air.
Talking about health and magic bars, we can fill them again whenever we want if a chest let us do it, through the journey we´ll see many tresaure chests of a green and blue color, green being for the health bar and blue for the magic bar, we can open them pressing the R2 button repeatedly, chests are too many through all the game so we won´t have to worry about it too much, sometimes when you defeat enemies it´ll drop out some magic and health orbs that will refill your bars, this doesn´t happens everytime so don´t be too confident.

Through the game we can find red orbs too and these are really important so we better collect them as much as we can, we can upgrade our weapons thanks to these, by upgrading the Blades of Chaos, we´ll be given the chance to access to more attacks and combos, this doesn´t apply only to the Blades of Chaos, as we have red orbs, we can upgrade another weapons we have, there is a limit of three times we can upgrade them, there will be plenty of red orbs in the world by defeating the enemies or in the red chests.
Kratos won´t be fighting his enemies all the time, he´ll be forced to solve too many puzzles of the game and it´s our duty to help him through these, sometimes they are easy and sometimes they need some thinking if you want to procced, difficulty won´t be a real challenge either if you are willing to play in Normal, now, if you play in a harder difficulty, it surely will be a challenge to you, you´ll have to memorize how to parry enemies which can be a real problem sometimes.
The soundtrack of God of War is amazing with too many orchestral themes, beating our enemies can be exciting and intense thanks to the marveleous soundtrack during the game, not only the soundtrack does a great work, but graphics and artistic style are oustanding as well, it´s really nice to see the details that God of War has to offer in its world, with this world, we are not controlling Kratos, we are Kratos through all his journey in his search of redemption.
God of War from the Play Station 2 is a must-play if you have the console, gonna be honest, I played it recently and I found myself charmed for its world even if I´m not the biggest fan of the greek mytologhy, it was a fun experience and all the way you´ll emphatize with Kratos through his journey, an epic story about revenge and the redemption we seek.
