Ezio Auditore, keep your hands off my cocoa!

Hello everyoneee folks, is it raining where you are? I sound like a classic Serbian pensioner in front of a shop, drinking beer with his buddies and dissecting global politics and the weather, haha, right?

Today it's gloomy and rainy here, so I started painting a figurine we printed on a 3D printer. It's Ezio Auditore, a character from the game Assassin's Creed. I haven't played it, but my fiancé has, so he printed him and gave me the task of painting him. xD

And me, I paint like I have two left hands, just slapping it on one after another, no precision anywhere, nothing, nothing, nothing. And I just keep saying it's artistic freedom, that's my excuse.

I also use the excuse that the figure is small, that it simply can't be painted any better. Then he shows me how other people paint a figurine three times smaller, but noooo, nope, this can;t be done any better. As we like to say, considering who made it, it's gooooood.

I'm happy when I manage to hit the right shade of color for the cloak, boots, pants... Now, if I can't reach some spots with the brush, that's on the figurineee and on the fact that the base is white and not dark like it's usually recommended for primer to be, precisely because of those hard to reach parts; when it's dark and stays that way, the dark looks like a shadow and like this you can see where I skipped.

I still haven't dared to mix a skin tone and try to paint the face and that one hand without a glove. I feel like I'm really going to mess that up. Also, here he tried to drink my freshly made hot cocoa, whaaaat... how dare he.

"Dude, maybe you hung out with Leonardo da Vinci back in your time, but now I'm the one painting you, don't make me turn your cloak pink, back off!" 😁

I know, I know a lot of details are missing, I smudged quite a few of them, paint over paint, the outfit turned out a bit darker gray, I didn't even hint at the buckles on the belt, true Assassin lovers, please forgive me, don't be mad at me. (:

I'll try to fix him, let him dry a bit, then I'll go over everything once more so the colors are even, if not, I guess it can be removed with acetone or nitro thinner, what do you think? Or my fiancé will just put a new figurine on the printer, we're going through filament like we produce it at home, ahaha.

How does it look to you?
Be honest, don't worry about my feelings, I won't cry if you say it's pretty poorly painted or compare it to the work of an eight-year-old. (: But keep in mind that I'll fix it, at least a little bit, orrr mess it up with repainting, who knows, it might end up like a pink ranger after all, if he keeps staring at my cocoa, it just might happen. xD

Additional note: I hope it’' okay for this blog to be part of this community. I tried to find a suitable place for it, and this seemed like the best option since the character is from a video game, probably a familiar one to most of you gamers. <3

Sort:

I think your little man needs something stronger than cocoa. Maybe try a vodka 😉

You are soo right, vodka would suit him perfectly or maybe some rum 😄
Now I'm wondering what Italians usually drink when it comes to hard liquor.

Never abandon artistic freedom! Great work!

Congratulations!

Thank you so much, Roswell, for encouraging me to be myself while I create. And thank you for the endless support from the very beginning of my account on this platform. ❤️

My pleasure.

Happy Saturday!

Since I don't know what the original should look like, I can say it looks amazing ))
In any case, it's a good experience and helps develop fine motor skills, which calms the nerves!
Well done!

Thank you so much, friend! You said that very nicely! I also think about that when I start painting or drawing something like this, even just drawing lines next to each other while sketching on a piece of paper feels calming to me and my nerves. Thanks for that delicious slice of pizza, too. <3

AMAZING! This was my second AC i played a long time ago, really nice design!

Thank you very much, I am glad you liked iiit. After googling more about it, I feel like I want to try playing it too. Ezio is a really interesting character. (:

You need to play it first AC one and the AC two is Ezio game! Thanks for share!

Fun project! Colors look good. Not coloring the face+hand gives the assassin a more 'mythical' look, like the assassin truly is a being of demise that a target would be fearful of.
