Although black holes are no game, Ehetan Surpur managed to develop the puzzle video game Orbit: Playing With Gravity. In this humble but interesting proposal its creator presents us with a softened vision of these dangerous enemies of human existence, and of every vestige of life that exists in the space in which we still occupy a privileged place.
A black hole is a finite region of space inside which there is a concentration of mass high enough to generate a gravitational field such that no material particle, not even light, can escape from it.
The story of Orbit revolves around the planets that we put into orbit around one or more black holes. We will find ourselves continually playing with gravity, struggling to keep our planets orbiting correctly. It's really a fascinating story. It is an encounter with science and the starting point of the creation of life, according to the studies and research of many knowledgeable scientists. And the encounter also with the possible birth of the place we inhabit as a human race. And I would even dare to consider as part of the story, the serious threats that would lead to the disappearance of the earth as a planet.
Orbit's graphics are built as you play. By placing planets in different orbits, these orbits in turn, leave endless colorful traces. Beautifully striking visuals that evoke the space in which we are privileged to have our homes. Images worthy of being exhibited in multiple art galleries.
The gameplay will be framed in our skill and imagination for the location and orbiting of planets near black holes. We will have more than 40 levels with different degrees of difficulty, but there will also be room for innovation. Many times we will have numerous planets in orbit around a single black hole and in others we will have several black holes to surround with planets. In many cases we will be facing black holes with repulsion, or we will be faced with the gravitational attractions of those planets themselves. We will only have to touch the screen of our cell phones with our finger to activate the magic of Orbit.
Orbit's music will transport us to literally interact with space, and while it entertains us, it also brings us a very special degree of relaxation. We could spend long periods of our time orbiting planets, and at the same time enjoy intense feelings of calm and inner peace, which we would find difficult to find in other activities. I believe that there, in the way it allows us to relax and in all that it brings to the human soul, is the true value of this special puzzle video game. Even though we would be gambling our very existence, if we were to be truly threatened, at some point, by one of these black holes.
If we were to take, through reading and the most recent graphics taken by the international space stations, a light but nourishing glimpse into space, I am completely convinced that we would learn a lot in a few paragraphs and observing a few images. We would realize how privileged we are, and no doubt, on the other hand, we would come to understand how apparently lonely we are in this little-known space-time.
It is a luxury to approach slightly to the greatest unveiled mysteries of modern science. There is still much to investigate and study. To know a little about black holes, and also to get into the life of an extraordinary human being like Stephen Hawking. A human being fighter who raises questions about the future of humanity as a species. He believed that human beings should leave the earth in order to survive as a species. Today we are battling a pandemic, tomorrow we don't know what we will face.
We will have no future if we do not colonize space.
Orbit is perhaps the closest we can get to a black hole - it is much better to take the action of playing with them than to actually be threatened by one! It will be up to us to motivate ourselves and give ourselves the great opportunity to enter this world of science, general relativity and quantum physics.
This game of simple appearance poses us very complex questions such as: What will be the destiny of the human race? How to continue perpetuating ourselves in time as thinking beings? How close is a black hole to our planet? These are questions that we may be able to slightly answer while playing with gravity in Órbit.

Aunque los agujeros negros ¡no son cosa de juego!, Ehetan Surpur se las arregló para desarrollar el videojuego de rompecabezas Orbit: Jugando Con La Gravedad. En esta humilde pero interesante propuesta su creador nos presenta una visión suavizada de estos peligrosos enemigos de la existencia humana, y de todo vestigio de vida que existe en el espacio en el cual aún ocupamos un privilegiado lugar.
Un agujero negro es una región finita del espacio en cuyo interior existe una concentración de masa lo suficientemente elevada como para generar un campo gravitatorio tal que ninguna partícula material ni siquiera la luz, puede escapar de ella.
La historia de Orbit gira entorno a los planetas que vamos poniendo en órbita alrededor de uno o más agujeros negros. Nos vamos a encontrar jugando continuamente con la gravedad, luchando para mantener a nuestros planetas orbitando correctamente. Es realmente una historia fascinante. Es un encuentro con la ciencia y el punto de inicio de la creación de la vida, según los estudios e investigaciónes de muchos científicos entendidos en la materia. Y el encuentro también con el posible nacimiento del lugar donde habitamos como raza humana. Y hasta me atrevería a considerar como parte de la historia, las serías amenazas que conllevarían a la desaparición de la tierra como planeta.
Los gráficos de Orbit se van construyendo a medida que vamos jugando. Al ir colocando planetas en diferentes órbitas, estás órbitas a su vez, van dejando un sin fin de coloridos trazos. Visuales hermosamente llamativas que evocan el espacio en el cual tenemos el privilegio de tener nuestros hogares. Imagenes dignas de ser expuestas en múltiples galerías de arte.
La jugabilidad estará enmarcada en nuestra destreza e imaginación para la ubicación y puesta en órbita de planetas cercanos a los agujeros negros. Contaremos con más de 40 niveles con diferentes grados de dificultad, pero además habrá espació para la innovación. Muchas veces tendremos numerosos planetas en orbita alrededor de un solo agujero negro y en otras tendremos varios agujeros negros a los cuales rodear de planetas. En muchos casos estaremos enfrentando agujeros negros con repulsión, o nos veremos las caras con las atracciones gravitacionales de esos propios planetas. Solo tendremos que tocar con nuestro dedo la pantalla de nuestros teléfonos móviles, para activar la magia de Orbit.
La música de Orbit nos transportará a interactuar literalmente con el espacio, a medida que nos entretiene, también nos aporta un grado de relajación muy especial. Podríamos pasar largos ratos de nuestro tiempo haciendo orbitar planetas, y al mismo tiempo disfrutar de intensos sentimientos de calma y de paz interior, que difícilmente encontraríamos realizando otras actividades. Considero que allí, en la manera que nos permite relajarnos y en todo lo que aporta para el alma humana, está el verdadero valor de este especial videojuego de rompecabezas. Apesar que estaríamos jugando la propia existencia, si llegáramos a estar amenazados verdaderamente, en algún momento, por uno de estos agujeros negros.
Si lograramos dar, através de la lectura y las más recientes gráficas tomadas por las estaciones espaciales internacionales, un ligero pero nutritivo vistazo al espacio, estoy completamente convencido que sería mucho lo que aprenderiamos en unos cuantos párrafos y observando unas cuantas imágenes. Caeríamos en cuenta de lo privilegiado que somos, y sin duda, por otra parte, llegaríamos a entender lo aparentemente solitarios que estamos en este espacio-tiempo tan poco conocido.
Es todo un lujo acercarse levemente a los mayores misterios no develados de la ciencia moderna. Aún queda mucho por investigar y estudiar. Conocer un poco de los agujeros negros, y adentrarnos también en la vida de un ser humano extraordinario como lo fue Stephen Hawking. Un ser humano luchador que nos plantea preguntas sobre el futuro de la humanidad como especie. El creía que el ser humano debería salir de la tierra para lograr sobrevivir como especie. Hoy batallamos con una pandemia, mañana no sabemos a qué nos enfrentaremos.
No tendremos futuro sino colonizamos el espacio.
Orbit quizás sea lo más cercano que podamos estar de un agujero negro. ¡Es mucho mejor tomar la acción de jugar con ellos que verse realmente amenazados por uno!. Estará en nosotros motivarnos y darnos la gran oportunidad de adentrarnos en este mundo de ciencia, de relatividad general y de física cuántica.
Este juego de apariencia sencilla nos plantea preguntas muy complejas como: ¿Cual sera el destino de la raza humana? ¿Como continuar perpetuandonos en el tiempo como seres pensantes? ¿Cuan cerca se encuentra un agujero negro de nuestro planeta? Estás son incógnitas que quizás podamos responder levemente mientras jugamos con la gravedad en Órbit.
